Determination of total potentially available nucleosides in human milk from Asian women.
The objective was to measure the total potentially available nucleosides (TPAN) in breast milk from Asian women. ⋯ The average TPAN level in Asian women is similar to that in European and American women, and free nucleotides in human milk represent less than half of the TPAN.

We assessed the mechanisms of ribonucleotide action on type 1 T-helper cell (Th1) responses against ovalbumin (OVA) in Th2-biased BALB/cJ mice. ⋯ Dietary ribonucleotides may attenuate skewed Th2 responses by augmenting clonal expansion of OVA-specific Th1 cells, suppressing expansion of OVA-specific Th2 cells in Th2-biased BLAB/cJ mice, and not affecting antigen non-specific cell surface markers.

Integration of orosensory and postingestive stimuli for the control of excessive fat intake in mice.
Long-term preferences for, and reinforcement effects of, undigested fat substitutes were investigated by means of a two-bottle choice test and the conditioned place preference (CPP) test. ⋯ These results suggest that the postingestible effects of corn oil are involved in long-term preference and reinforcing effects.
