Pulmonary edema following instillation of topical phenylephrine eyedrops in a child under general anesthesia.
To report a case of pulmonary edema, in a child under general anesthesia, due to iatrogenic acute hypertensive crisis following instillation of 1 drop of 5% phenylephrine eyedrops. ⋯ To produce maximum mydriasis, with minimum systemic effects, preventive strategies such as using the lowest drug concentration, punctual occlusion, eyelid closure, allowing adequate time for the pharmacologic effect to occur, and the use of microdrops in infants should be adopted.

To specify histopathologic and immunohistochemical features of chronic and delayed mustard gas keratopathy. ⋯ In this observational case series, although all corneal layers from epithelium to the endothelium were involved from mild to severe degrees, the anterior corneal layers were more affected on histopathology than the posterior parts in chronic and delayed mustard gas keratopathy.

Fundus autofluorescence and spectral domain optical coherence tomography in early detection of Plaquenil maculopathy.
To report fundus autofluorescence (FAF) and spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) findings in a patient with early hydroxychloroquine maculopathy. ⋯ Findings on SD-OCT and FAF imaging support the histopathologic findings described in cases of hydroxychloroquine maculopathy.

To determine the outcome of patients with hyphema secondary to ocular contusion. ⋯ Traumatic hyphema is a recognized cause of significant visual disability. Improved visual acuity was attained after 3 months. The presenting visual acuity correlated with the visual prognosis. Patients with posterior segment complications tended to have poorer visual outcomes. The presence of the sickle cell gene increased the risk of secondary glaucoma.
