The Impact of Revascularization in a Patient with Atypical Manifestations of Hypoperfusion.
Background and Objectives: Carotid revascularization is one of the most effective treatment options in patients with severe carotid artery stenosis causing hypoperfusion in basal ganglia. Atypical manifestations include hyperkinetic movements, noted as extremely rare. We report a case about a patient with 2-months-long complaints of Uncontrollable movements in his right side of the body subsided after carotid revascularization. ⋯ Conclusions: Revascularization may be effective by eliminating emboli and stenosis, leading to hypoperfusion in watershed territories. A case of a 71-year-old male patient with the main complaints of 2-months-long uncontrollable movements in his right side of the body subsiding after carotid revascularization was demonstrated. It is vital to recognize atypical manifestations of hypoperfusion, associated with stenosis in internal carotid arteries, to early make a diagnosis, to perform an appropriate treatment, and to reduce the risk of cerebral infarction in the future, resulting in a longer high-quality life for the patient.

Background and objectives: In clinical practice, we observed that the prognoses of patients with heart failure and atrial fibrillation were worse than those of patients with only heart failure or atrial fibrillation. The study aims to get a better understanding of the common pathogenesis of the two diseases and find new therapeutic targets. Materials and Methods: We downloaded heart failure datasets and atrial fibrillation datasets from the gene expression omnibus database. ⋯ In addition, two co-upregulated (FRZB, SFRP4) and three co-downregulated genes (ENTPPL, AQP4, C1orf105) were identified. GO enrichment results showed that these common differentially expressed genes were mainly concentrated in the signal regulation of the Wnt pathway. Conclusions: We found five crucial genes in heart failure and atrial fibrillation, which may be potential therapeutic targets for patients with heart failure and atrial fibrillation.

Percutaneous N-Butyl-Cyanoacrylate Embolization for Treating Ruptured Pancreaticoduodenal Aneurysm: A Case Report.
Background and Objectives: Pancreaticoduodenal artery aneurysms are rare visceral artery aneurysms. Interventional treatments, including transcatheter embolization, have an acceptable success rate. We report a case of ruptured pancreaticoduodenal aneurysm that was successfully treated with percutaneous N-Butyl-cyanoacrylate (NBCA) embolization after failed transcatheter embolization. ⋯ Results: On CT, the pancreaticoduodenal aneurysm was completely embolized. No additional bleeding events occurred. Conclusions: Percutaneous NBCA embolization is safe and effective for treating patients with ruptured pancreaticoduodenal aneurysms after failed transcatheter embolization.

Background and objective: Patients with heart failure are a high-risk group who may have a higher mortality rate if infected during the COVID-19 pandemic. The problem of a patient's non-adherence to cardiac rehabilitation programs is still a challenge, resulting in disappointing long-term benefits of cardiac rehabilitation. Telehealth, including telerehabilitation, has grown in popularity to improve access to quality healthcare. ⋯ No major adverse outcomes or significant complications were associated with the program. Conclusion: Cardiac telerehabilitation has the potential to deliver rehabilitation for heart failure patients, evidenced by its feasibility, efficacy, and safety. As a future perspective, this delivery care type can be applied throughout transmissible disease outbreaks or even globally.

The review investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on the elective surgical treatment of patients diagnosed with colorectal cancer, and the modifications of the duration of hospital stay scheduled for the surgery. Most of the studies included in our analysis showed a decrease in the number of elective surgical procedures applied to patients with colorectal cancer, varying from 14% to 70% worldwide. We have also observed a significant shortening of the hospital stay in most of the cases, associated with a longer waiting time until hospital admission. In the end, we have performed a synthesis of all the valuable data and advice gathered from real life observations, proposing a strategy to deal with the pandemic and with the large number of cancer patients accumulated during these difficult times.
