Background and Objectives: Achieving adequate pain reduction in the acute phase of herpes zoster is essential for preventing postherpetic neuralgia (PHN). For this purpose, appropriate antiviral medications, oral analgesic medications, and various nerve block methods could be applied. Erector spinae plane block (ESPB) is a simple, novel ultrasound-guided block technique, and its use has increased because the procedure is convenient and relatively safe. ⋯ Limitations: The relatively small sample size from a single center and the retrospective nature of the study served as limitations. Conclusions: The clinical effects of ESPB and TFEI were similar in patients with acute thoracic herpes zoster. ESPB could be considered an interventional option for ZAP management.

Background and objectives: wear and corrosion can lead to the gross failure of the Morse taper junction with the consequent fracture of the true neck of the prosthetic stem in hip arthroplasty. Materials and Methods: 58-year-old male patient, with a BMI of 38 kg/m2. Because of avascular necrosis, in 2007, a metal-on-metal total hip arthroplasty was implanted in him, with a TMZF stem and a Co-Cr head. ⋯ SEM analysis demonstrated fatigue rupture modes, and the crack began close to the neck's surface. On the lateral surface, several scratches were found, suggesting an intense wear that could be due to abrasion. Conclusions: The analysis we conducted on the explanted THA showed a ductile rupture, began close to the upper surface of the prosthetic neck where the presence of many scratches had concentrated stresses and led to a fatigue fracture.

Physical exercise is known to have beneficial effects on psychosocial well-being and cognitive performance. Children with cerebral palsy (CP) showed lower levels of physical activity (PA) than healthy children; this fact, in addition to the basic clinical condition, increased the sedentary habit with a psychological impact and motor impairment of these children. Furthermore, children and adolescents with CP are less committed to sports activities than typically developing children of the same age. ⋯ The main results pointed out that most of the sports improved motor function, quality of life, and coordination in children and adolescents with CP. Physicians, therapists, and parents should become aware of the benefits of sports activities for this population of patients. Specific sports activities could be included as a usual indication in clinical practice in addition to rehabilitation treatment.

Review Case Reports
Takayasu's Arteritis: A Special Case Report and Review of the Literature.
Background: Takayasu's arteritis is a rare type of vasculitis with severe complications like stroke, ischemic heart disease, pulmonary hypertension, secondary hypertension, and aneurysms. Diagnosis is achieved using clinical and angiographic criteria. Treatment is medical and surgical, but unfortunately, the outcome is limited. ⋯ Conclusions: This case report presented a severe form of Takayasu's arteritis. Our patient had multiple arterial complications, as previously mentioned. She received immunosuppressive treatment, medication targeted to coronary heart disease, and surgical therapy.

Background and Objectives: The objective of this retrospective study was to investigate the association between acetabulum fractures; the mechanism of injury; and variables such as BMI, duration of hospital stay, blood loss, and surgery time. By exploring these factors, we aim to enhance our understanding of them and their impact on the healing process and the subsequent management of pelvic fractures. Materials and Methods: This study included 67 of 136 consecutive patients who were admitted for pelvic ring fracture surgery between 2017 and 2022. ⋯ However, in the studied group, the patients whose mechanism of trauma involved falling from height had an increased number of blood transfusions compared to other groups. Moreover, the patients who had surgery due to posterior wall acetabulum fracture had decreased blood transfusions compared to those with other Judet and Letournel types of fractures. Additionally, they had the shortest duration of surgery.
