Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) is a complex condition marked by an atypical autonomic response to standing, leading to orthostatic intolerance and significant tachycardia without accompanying hypotension. In recent studies, a considerable number of individuals recovering from COVID-19 have been reported to experience POTS within 6 to 8 months post-infection. Key symptoms of POTS include fatigue, difficulty with orthostatic tolerance, tachycardia, and cognitive challenges. ⋯ COVID-19-related POTS should be approached with a holistic strategy. Although many patients show improvement with initial non-drug treatments, for subjects who do not respond and exhibit more severe symptoms, medication-based therapies may be necessary. The current understanding of COVID-19-related POTS is limited, underscoring the need for more research to increase knowledge and enhance treatment approaches.

The development of percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI) has been one of the greatest advances in cardiology and has changed clinical practice for patients with coronary artery disease (CAD). Despite continuous improvements in operators' experience, techniques, and the development of new-generation devices, significant challenges remain in improving the efficacy of PCI, including calcification, bifurcation, multivascular disease, stent restenosis, and stent thrombosis, among others. The present review aims to provide an overview of the current status of knowledge of endovascular revascularization in CAD, including relevant trials, therapeutic strategies, and new technologies addressing particular scenarios that can impact the prognosis of this vulnerable population.

Background and Objectives: Dapsone (DP) is employed in the management of various skin conditions, including autoimmune bullous diseases to non-enzymes (n-eAIBDs). This study aimed to assess the advantages and safety profile of DP treatment in n-eAIBDs patients. The evaluation focused on clinical remission, reduction in glucocorticosteroid (GCS) usage, and adverse incidents during a 12-month observation in a dermatology department at a Central European university. ⋯ Throughout the 12-month observation period, 21.62% of patients experienced a relapse, while the remaining patients attained either complete or partial remission with minimal therapy. Adverse incidents were observed in 29.27% of patients; these were mild or moderate, and no severe negative effects were observed. Conclusions: DP is an effective and affordable choice to support the treatment of n-eAIBDs, but it may not be sufficient for long-term management in certain patients with severe n-eAIBDs.

Background and Objectives: Atherosclerotic disease is a major contributor to heart failure, stroke, and myocardial infarction, significantly lowering the quality of life and life expectancy and placing a significant burden on healthcare. Not all lesions deemed non-significant are benign, and conversely, not all significant lesions are causative of ischemia. Fractional flow reserve (FFR) provides a functional assessment of coronary lesions, while optical coherence tomography (OCT) offers detailed imaging of plaque morphology, aiding in therapeutic decision-making. ⋯ Conclusions: Based on the findings of this study, OCT significantly increases the percentage of stenting procedures by identifying vulnerable lesions. The use of intracoronary imaging facilitates the timely identification and treatment of these vulnerable lesions. This underscores the crucial role of OCT in enhancing the precision of coronary interventions by ensuring timely intervention for vulnerable lesions, thereby potentially improving patient outcomes.

Comparative Study
Comparison of One-Year Outcome of Intravitreal Aflibercept with or without Photodynamic Therapy for Polypoidal Choroidal Vasculopathy.
Background and Objectives: Our study compared the visual and anatomical outcomes of polypoidal choroidal vasculopathy (PCV) patients receiving intravitreal aflibercept (IVA) with or without photodynamic therapy (PDT) over 12 months. Materials and Methods: This retrospective study was performed for 60 eyes from 60 patients with treatment-naïve PCV. Thirty eyes were treated using IVA monotherapy (IVA group), and thirty eyes were treated using a combination of IVA with PDT (IVA/PDT group). ⋯ In the entire population of the study, a better baseline vision and younger age were associated with better final visual outcomes. Retreatment was associated with poor baseline BCVA and IVA monotherapy. Conclusions: The combination of IVA and PDT may offer superior visual improvement and a higher dry macula rate compared to IVA monotherapy in the treatment of PCV patients while requiring fewer retreatments over 12 months.
