Histopathology of Sinonasal and Nasopharyngeal Neoplastic Lesions in a Tertiary Care Center of Western Nepal: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
Sinonasal and nasopharyngeal regions harbor diverse clinical conditions including many non-neoplastic and neoplastic lesions presenting with nasal obstruction, facial pain and swelling, rhinorrhea, epistaxis, and other oral, ear, and orbital symptoms. Histopathology of excised lesions is the mainstay for the definitive diagnosis and management of neoplastic lesions. The aim of this study is to find out the prevalence of neoplastic lesions among sinonasal and nasopharyngeal masses. ⋯ This study observed a variety of neoplastic lesions. The most common benign lesion was nasal polyp and squamous cell carcinoma and nasopharyngeal carcinoma were the most common malignant lesions.

Anterior Cruciate Ligament Injury and its Rehabilitation in Nepal.
Anterior cruciate ligament is one of the most common ligaments to get injured especially in athletic population. It is a band of dense connective tissue which arises from the antero-medial aspect of the inter condylar area on the tibial plateau and passes upwards and backwards to attach to the posteromedial aspect of the lateral femoral condyle. ⋯ Factors like over use, inadequate recovery time, playing surface, fitness incompatibility are involved in the increase of anterior cruciate ligament injury among athletes in Nepal. Treatment approach for anterior cruciate ligament injury is ever evolving with regular studies and innovation, but constant guidance and rehabilitation in an institution-based setting have shown positive feedback in recovery and return to play.

Case ReportsPituitary Apoplexy Complicated by Cerebral Infarction: A Case Report.
Cerebral infarction is a rare complication of pituitary apoplexy, which can result in significant morbidity if not treated on time. Pituitary apoplexy mostly occurs in pre-existing adenoma, which can remain undiagnosed until symptoms arise. ⋯ Neuroimaging revealed large hemorrhagic sellar mass and ischemic infarction in the left middle cerebral artery territory. Emergency transcranial tumor excision was done, which resulted in significant neurological recovery.

Acid-Base Disorder in the Patients Visiting the Emergency Department of a Tertiary Care Hospital: A Descriptive Cross-sectional Study.
An acid-base disorder is a change in the normal value of extracellular pH that may result when renal or respiratory function is abnormal or when an acid or base load overwhelms their excretory capacity. Clinical acid-base disorders are conventionally defined from the vantage point of their impact on carbonic-acid-bicarbonate buffer system. The aim of the study is to find out the prevalence of acid-base disorder among patients visiting the emergency department of a tertiary care hospital. ⋯ Most common acid-base disorder was mixed disorder presenting with prominent symptoms of shortness of breathe in non-geriatric patients wherein the geriatric patient, the most common disorder was compensated respiratory acidosis with the prominent symptom of shortness of breath.

Case ReportsArteriovenous Malformations in Proximal Part of Ileum: A Case Report.
Arteriovenous malformations in the ileum are a rare cause of gastrointestinal bleeding in young adults with few reported cases and pose difficulty in diagnosing. They usually present with chronic gastrointestinal bleed. A 30-year-old woman presented with an acute episode of hematochezia with a history of intermittent melena for 1.5 years. ⋯ Computed tomography-Angiogram showed local intraluminal contrast extravasation in the ileum. Explorative laparotomy and on-table enteroscopy were performed identifying a small elevated, pigmented, and eroded mucosa (5 to 6 mm) in proximal ileum; resection and primary anastomosis were performed. The patient was followed after surgical resection and her symptoms improved dramatically with no additional episodes of melena and with the normalization of hemoglobin.
