To evaluate whether introduction of CCRTs reduced mortality rates among patients who developed a postoperative complication, also referred to as FTR. ⋯ Although implementation of CCRTs in hospitals in Ontario, Canada, did not reduce FTR among all surgical patients having surgery, CCRTs may reduce the risk of FTR among patients having orthopedic surgery.

To review breast cancer incidence in women with ADH diagnosed by CNB and managed nonoperatively. ⋯ Observation, rather than surgical excision, is safe in select women with ADH. National guidelines should consider observation for this select group of patients.

To determine if distinct financial trajectories exist and if they are associated with quality-of-life outcomes. ⋯ The Financially Resilient trajectory demonstrates financial hardship after injury can be overcome. Further research into understanding why and how this occurs is needed.

Factors Associated with Post-Procedure Opioid Prescribing and Persistent Opioid Use Among Opioid-Naïve Patients: A Nationally Representative Sample.
Examine factors associated with postprocedure opioid receipt and persistent opioid use among opioid-naive patients in a nationally representative sample. ⋯ Procedures account for a large portion of opioid prescriptions among opioid-naive patients. This study provides evidence to inform national guidelines for opioid prescribing and postprocedure pain management.

To examine the alignment between graduating surgical trainee operative performance and a prior survey of surgical program director expectations. ⋯ The operative performance of graduating general surgery residents may not be well aligned with surgical program director expectations.
