Case ReportsAcute Mono-appendicitis in a Case of Duplex Appendix: A Rare Finding.
Appendiceal duplication is an extremely rare entity in adulthood. It is usually diagnosed incidentally during laparotomy performed for another indication. Herein, we present a case of double appendicitis in a 31-year male who underwent laparotomy with a preliminary diagnosis of acute appendicitis. ⋯ Appendicectomy was performed for both of them. Due to the fact that appendicectomy is the most common abdominal surgery procedure, surgeons should always bear in mind this rare anomaly, in order to prevent complications. Key Words: Appendiceal duplication, Cecum, Anatomic variation.

To find parameters for differential diagnosis between Brucella epididymo-orchitis (BEO) and non-brucella epididymo-orchitis (NBEO) cases with comparison of BEO and NBEO in terms of inflammatory markers, full urinalysis (FU) for pyuria, and abscess formation (AF). ⋯ BEO cases are often younger and do not have pyuria or abscess formation. High frequency of pyuria was found in NBEO cases. CRP levels cannot be used in the differential diagnosis between BEO and NBEO cases. Key Words: Abscess formation, Brucella epididymo-orchitis, C-reactive protein, Orchiectomy, Pyuria.

Combined Value of Serum miR-124, TNF-α and IL-1β for Vulnerable Carotid Plaque in Acute Cerebral Infarction.
To analyse correlation between serum miR-124, TNF-α and IL-1β levels and carotid vulnerable spots in acute cerebral infarction (ACI) patients, and explore the value of above biomarkers in diagnosing carotid artery plaques in ACI patients. ⋯ Serum miR-124, TNF-α and IL-1β can be used as indicators for early auxiliary diagnosis of vulnerable carotid plaques in patients with ACI, and combination of the three has the best diagnostic efficacy. Key Words: Acute cerebral infarction (ACI) Serum, miR-124, TNF-α, IL-1β, Vulnerable carotid plaque.

Case ReportsIsolated Female Epispadias with Urinary Incontinence.
Isolated female epispadias without bladder extrophy is a rare variant of female urethral anomaly reported rarely in the literature. For optimal and early management, early clinical diagnosis is important. Female with isolated epispadias usually presents with primary urinary incontinence with abnormal looking external genitalia on examination. ⋯ Reconstructive surgery of urethra, labia minora and bifid clitoris was performed in one stage. The goals of management in this case were to achieve urinary continence with reasonable time between voids and cosmetically acceptable female genitalia. Key Words: Epispadias, Bifid clitoris, Urinary incontinence.

Computed Tomography-guided 125I Radioactive Seed Implantation Therapy for Pancreatic Cancer Pain.
This study aimed to evaluate the short-term curative effect of computed tomography (CT) guided radioactive 125I (125-Iodine) seed implantation (CTRISI) therapy for advanced pancreatic cancer patients pain. ⋯ CTRISI could relieve pain effectively in the patients and suppress local tumor progress. This technique helps to relieve the pain symptoms, reduce the amount of painkillers, and improve the quality of life of patients. Key Words: Pancreatic cancer, 125I, radioactive seed implantation, pain, hydroxycodone.
