Treatment of first-time traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation: the UK TASH-D cohort study.
Shoulder dislocations are the most common joint dislocations seen in emergency departments. Most traumatic cases are anterior and cause recurrent dislocations. Management options include surgical and conservative treatments. There is a lack of evidence about which method is most effective after the first traumatic anterior shoulder dislocation (TASD). ⋯ The National Institute for Health Research Health Technology Assessment programme.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialAdalimumab in combination with methotrexate for refractory uveitis associated with juvenile idiopathic arthritis: a RCT.
Children with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) are at risk of uveitis. The role of adalimumab (Humira®; AbbVie Inc., Ludwigshafen, Germany) in the management of uveitis in children needs to be determined. ⋯ A clinical trial is required to define the most effective time to stop therapy. Prognostic biomarkers of early and complete response should also be identified.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialSexual risk reduction interventions for patients attending sexual health clinics: a mixed-methods feasibility study.
Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) continue to represent a major public health challenge. There is evidence that behavioural interventions to reduce risky sexual behaviours can reduce STI rates in patients attending sexual health (SH) services. However, it is not known if these interventions are effective when implemented at scale in SH settings in England. ⋯ We were unable to conclude whether or not a definitive RCT would be feasible because of challenges in implementation of a pilot, but have laid the groundwork for future research in the area.

Clinical TrialElectronically delivered interventions to reduce antibiotic prescribing for respiratory infections in primary care: cluster RCT using electronic health records and cohort study.
Unnecessary prescribing of antibiotics in primary care is contributing to the emergence of antimicrobial drug resistance. ⋯ Strategies for antimicrobial stewardship should employ stratified interventions that are tailored to specific age groups. Further research into the safety of reduced antibiotic prescribing is also needed.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter Study Clinical TrialGoal-oriented cognitive rehabilitation for early-stage Alzheimer's and related dementias: the GREAT RCT.
Cognitive rehabilitation (CR) is an individualised, person-centred intervention for people with mild to moderate dementia that addresses the impact of cognitive impairment on everyday functioning. ⋯ Next steps will focus on the implementation of CR into NHS and social care services and on extending the approach to people with rarer forms of dementia.
