The safety profile of favipiravir in COVID-19 patients with severe renal impairment.
The safety profile of favipiravir in patients with severe renal impairment has not been investigated and available data are insufficient. The study aimed to compare the incidence of favipiravir-associated adverse events amongst patients with varying renal function statuses. ⋯ Even though favipiravir appeared to be well tolerated in the individuals with renal failure in this study, its use in this population remains a challenge that requires more research and analysis.

Correlation of Racial Effect with Severity of Disease and In-Hospital Outcome in Individuals Diagnosed with COVID-19.
There are many countries that inhibit diverse populations and hence, studies have been conducted to find the relation between ethnic and racial groups within a society and incidence or mortality because of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19). ⋯ Severity and in-hospital outcome were varying considerably amongst the racial groups. East and South Asian COVID-19 patients had more severe symptoms and less recovery rate compared with other groups, late presentation may be a contributory reason. Hence, evaluation of the severity of COVID-19 in relation to the various racial groups along with demographic characteristics and other risk factors can provide baseline guidance to the clinical care providers to initiate earlier and appropriate treatment.

Primary primitive neuroectodermal tumor of the kidney in adults: experience of managing 12 cases with systematic review and pooled analysis of literature.
Primitive neuroectodermal tumor (PNET) of the kidney is unusual in adults. These tumours are diagnosed mainly on histopathology and that too sometimes has limitations. With this study, we aimed to review our clinical and histopathological data of patients with renal PNET and reviewing the world literature. ⋯ PNET remains a pathological diagnosis and IHC has important place in diagnosis of PNET. Locally advanced and metastatic disease is common at diagnosis leading to overall poor survival.

Organ-specific autoimmune markers in adult patients with type 1 diabetes mellitus.
We aimed to investigate the presence of thyroid, celiac disease (CD) and anti-parietal cell antibodies (APCA) in adult type 1 diabetes (T1DM) patients. ⋯ Almost half of the adult T1DM patients were positive for at least one non-diabetic antibody. It is important to investigate thyroid autoimmunity in patients diagnosed with T1DM at any age, including advanced age. CD associated antibody positivity increases with disease duration, suggesting that they should be re-evaluated at clinical suspicion, even if prior tests were negative.

Attitudes of Midwives and Obstetricians toward Midwives Practiced Roles in Hospitals: A National Study in Jordan.
The aims of this study were to identify midwives' and obstetricians' attitudes towards midwives practised roles in hospitals and to identify the differences in their attitudes towards midwives practiced roles. ⋯ Based on the current study findings, parallel cooperation between educational/academic policymakers from both midwives and obstetricians may re-evaluate and upgrade the midwifery curriculum to meet the ICM competencies and health sector needs as a step to graduate competent midwives where their responsibility is recognised and organised.
