Falls in Older Persons with Type 2 Diabetes in the Malaysian Elders Longitudinal Research (MELoR) Study.
Older persons with diabetes are at an increased risk of falls leading to fractures, head injuries and disability. ⋯ The presence of osteoporosis and dizziness was associated with an increased risk of falls among older diabetics. These findings will need to be confirmed in future prospective follow-up of this cohort.

COVID-Q: validation of the first COVID-19 questionnaire based on patient-rated symptom gravity.
The aim of the present study was to develop and validate the CoronaVirus-Disease-2019 (COVID-19) Questionnaire (COVID-Q), a novel symptom questionnaire specific for COVID-19 patients, to provide a comprehensive evaluation that may be helpful for physicians, and evaluate the questionnaire's performance in identifying subjects at higher risk of testing positive. ⋯ COVID-Q could be validated since the evaluated aspects were overall significantly related to infection. The application of the questionnaire to clinical practice may help to identify subjects who are likely to be affected by COVID-19 and address them to a nasopharyngeal swab in order to achieve an early diagnosis.

Predicting Covid-19 Emergency Medical Service Incidents from Daily Hospitalization Trends.
The aim of our retrospective study was to quantify the impact of Covid-19 on the temporal distribution of emergency medical services (EMS) demand in Travis County, Austin, Texas and propose a robust model to forecast Covid-19 EMS incidents. ⋯ The mean daily number of non-pandemic EMS demand was significantly less than the period before the Covid-19 pandemic. The number of EMS calls for Covid-19 symptoms can be predicted from the daily new hospitalisation of Covid-19 patients. These findings may be of interest to EMS departments as they plan for future pandemics, including the ability to predict pandemic-related calls in an effort to adjust a targeted response.

Comparison of Percutaneous Nephrolithotomy and Retrograde Intrarenal Surgery Outcomes for Kidney Stones Larger than 2 cm from Guy's Stone Scoring System Perspective.
To compare surgical outcomes of percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PNL) and retrograde intrarenal surgeries (RIRS) as a result of kidney stones larger than 2 cm, together with Guy's stone scores (GSS). ⋯ SF of PNL in a single session and short operation time seems to be significant especially in GSS grades 1, 2 and 3 category stones. Although the number of patients in the GSS 4 group is very small to claim this, RIRS might be considered as an alternative to PNL in a special group of patients such as GSS grade 4 because of its lower complication rates and shorter LOHS.

Clinical Characteristics and In-Hospital Mortality of Patients with COVID-19 in Chile: A Prospective Cohort Study.
To describe the Latin American population affected by COVID-19, and to determine relevant risk factors for in-hospital mortality. ⋯ The relationship between multiple prognostic factors has been scarcely reported in Latin American patients with COVID-19. By combining different clinically relevant risk factors, we can identify COVID-19 patients with high-, medium- and low-risk of in-hospital mortality.
