The Effect Of Chronic DOAC Treatment On Clinical Outcomes Of Hospitalized Patients With COVID-19.
Recent findings indicate that thrombosis is one of the underlying pathophysiology and complication of COVID-19 infection. Therefore, the prognosis of the disease may be more favourable in people who were under oral anticoagulant treatment before the COVID-19 diagnosis. This study aims to evaluate the effects of chronic DOAC use on ICU admission and mortality in hospitalized patients due to COVID-19 infection. ⋯ Our study showed that the use of DOAC prior to hospitalization had no protective effect on in-hospital mortality and intensive care need in hospitalized COVID-19 patients.

A Cross-sectional study on prescribing and dispensing errors at a corporate hospital in South India.
The substantial and increasing use of medications escalating the risk of harm globally. The serious medication errors in hospital and community settings resulting from patient injury and death. Hence, a cross-sectional study was aimed to analyse the prescribing and dispensing errors in the outpatient departments of a south Indian hospital. ⋯ This study concludes that the overall prevalence of medication errors was around 80%, but there were no life-threatening events observed. A clinical pharmacist can play a major role in this situation appears to be a strong intervention and early detection and prevention of medication errors and thus can improve the quality of care to the patients.

This consensus statement aims to highlight and provide guidelines necessary to be implemented for a clinical dental practice. ⋯ The experts and panelists reached a Consensus on the protocols and guidelines for the safe clinical and institutional dental practice.

Epidemiology of depression and anxiety among undergraduate students.
Depression and anxiety are the most common and prevalent mental health issues among undergraduate students. This study aimed to investigate the prevalence of anxiety and depression, their associated predictors, and to assess knowledge and use of antidepressant medications among university students in Jordan. ⋯ Findings of this study addressed the importance of taking serious measures and interventions to prevent the development of severe mental illness among university students.

The Relationship Between Lesion Density Change in Chest CT and Clinical Improvement in COVID-19 Patients.
To evaluate the association of changes in chest computed tomography (CT) lesion densities with clinical improvement in COVID-19 patients. ⋯ This is the first study in the literature reporting reduction in chest CT lesion densities correlated with clinical and laboratory improvement in COVID-19 patients.
