Comparative StudyEctopic pregnancy after in vitro fertilization: differences between fresh and frozen-thawed cycles.
To evaluate whether the uterine environment is associated with the risk of ectopic implantation by comparing outcomes of fresh and frozen-thawed embryo transfers. ⋯ Embryo transfers in cycles without ovarian hyperstimulation, such as frozen or donor cycles, were associated with lower rates of EP compared with fresh autologous cycles, suggesting that a difference in the tubal-uterine environment contributes to abnormal implantation after IVF.

Review Meta AnalysisEffectiveness and feasibility of hysteroscopic sterilization techniques: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
To assess whether hysteroscopic sterilization is feasible and effective in preventing pregnancy. Secondarily, to identify risk factors for failure of hysteroscopic sterilization. ⋯ Sterilization by hysteroscopy seems feasible, but the effectiveness and risk factors for failure of sterilization remain unclear owing to the poor-quality evidence. Both currently applied hysteroscopic sterilization techniques and the coming new techniques must be evaluated properly for feasibility and effectiveness. Appropriate RCTs and observational studies with sufficient power and complete and long-term (>10 years) follow-up data on unintended pregnancies and complications are needed.

To estimate the optimal age to pursue elective oocyte cryopreservation. ⋯ Oocyte cryopreservation can be of great benefit to specific women and has the highest chance of success when performed at an earlier age. At age 37 years, oocyte cryopreservation has the largest benefit over no action and is most cost-effective.

Poor ovarian response in women undergoing in vitro fertilization is associated with altered microRNA expression in cumulus cells.
To analyze the association of micro-ribonucleic acid (miRNA) expression with the number of oocytes retrieved, in women undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVF). ⋯ We found that poor response to IVF is associated with altered miRNA expression in cumulus cells, specifically with elevated expression of miR-21-5p, and that this elevated expression is independent of lower serum E2 levels in poor responders.

Review Meta AnalysisEffect of vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy on maternal and neonatal outcomes: a systematic review and meta-analysis of randomized controlled trials.
To assess the effects of vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy on obstetric outcomes and birth variables. ⋯ Vitamin D supplementation during pregnancy was associated with increased circulating 25(OH)D levels, birth weight, and birth length, and was not associated with other maternal and neonatal outcomes. Larger, better-designed RCTs evaluating clinically relevant outcomes are necessary to reach a definitive conclusion.
