Case ReportsContained morcellation using the GelPOINT advance access platforms and 3M Steri-Drape endobag.
To report a technique that safely allows power and hand morcellation for laparoscopic hysterectomy and myomectomy specimens in a contained fashion in the event of unsuspected uterine sarcoma or leiomyosarcoma. ⋯ The GSP and 3M Steri-Drape endobag is an alternative for laparoscopic power or hand morcellation. Using simulation training helped transition this technique to the live patient, allowing for easy and safe removal of tissue specimens and minimizing the potential for tissue seeding and dissemination.

To evaluate whether microRNAs (miRNAs) associated with endometriosis are detectable in the circulation and could serve as potential noninvasive biomarkers for endometriosis. ⋯ Several circulating miRNAs are differentially expressed in the sera of women with endometriosis compared with controls. The combination of serum let-7b, 7d, and 7f levels during the proliferative phase may serve as a diagnostic marker for endometriosis.

Randomized Controlled Trial Multicenter StudyAssessment of multiple intrauterine gestations from ovarian stimulation (AMIGOS) trial: baseline characteristics.
To identify baseline characteristics of women with unexplained infertility to determine whether treatment with an aromatase inhibitor will result in a lower rate of multiple gestations than current standard ovulation induction medications. ⋯ NCT 01044862.

To demonstrate 2 step-by-step techniques for contained morcellation of uterine tissue. ⋯ These techniques allow surgeons to adopt the new standard of contained morcellation and permit removal of extensive pathology with a minimally invasive approach.

Effect of sperm DNA fragmentation on the clinical outcomes for in vitro fertilization and intracytoplasmic sperm injection in women with different ovarian reserves.
To investigate effect of sperm DNA fragmentation (SDF) on clinical outcomes of assisted reproductive technology in women with normal ovarian reserve (NOR) versus reduced ovarian reserve (ROR). ⋯ Sperm DNA fragmentation has a greater impact on IVF and ICSI outcomes among women with ROR, so SDF testing may be of particular clinical significance for these couples.
