Comparative StudyPregnancy rates in donor oocyte cycles compared to similar autologous in vitro fertilization cycles: an analysis of 26,457 fresh cycles from the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technology.
To use a large US IVF database and compare pregnancy outcomes in fresh donor oocyte versus autologous IVF cycles in women age 20-30 years. ⋯ Recent US data suggest that the hormonal environment resulting from autologous ovarian stimulation lowers IVF success rates. Further research is needed to determine when to avoid fresh embryo transfer in autologous patients.

Dual trigger with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist and standard dose human chorionic gonadotropin to improve oocyte maturity rates.
To evaluate the percentage (%) of mature oocytes retrieved in patients with a previous history of >25% immature oocytes retrieved who were triggered with gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist (GnRH-a) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG) to induce oocyte maturation. ⋯ In patients with a low percentage of mature oocytes retrieved who are triggered with a combination of GnRH-a and hCG, the % of mature oocytes retrieved improved. in vitro fertilization outcomes, however, remain poor, suggesting an underlying oocyte dysfunction.

Long-term influence of combined oral contraceptive use on the clinical course of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis.
To assess the long-term effects of combined oral contraceptives (COCs) on the clinical course of relapsing-remitting multiple sclerosis (RRMS), focusing on disability progression and evolution to secondary-progressive multiple sclerosis (SPMS). ⋯ Our results suggest that COC use is associated with a less severe disease and less severe evolution. Whether different doses or types of progestin may have different effects remains to be defined.

Dynamics of nitric oxide, altered follicular microenvironment, and oocyte quality in women with endometriosis.
To study follicular microenvironment in terms of free radical dynamics, oocyte quality, and assisted reproductive technology (ART) outcomes among women with (group A) and without (group B) endometriosis. ⋯ Increased protein nitration, GC apoptosis, resistance to IVM, and oocyte aging indicate the involvement of oxidative dysregulation of NO in the pathophysiology of altered follicular milieu and poor oocyte quality in women with endometriosis.
