Meta Analysis Comparative StudyA meta-analysis of the therapeutic role of oil soluble contrast media at hysterosalpingography: a surprising result?
To evaluate the therapeutic effect of oil-soluble contrast media compared with water-soluble contrast media after hysterosalpingography (HSG) in infertile couples. ⋯ Oil-soluble contrast media have a therapeutic effect compared with water-soluble media and this effect is greatest for patients who have been diagnosed as having unexplained infertility. New techniques for the evaluation of tubal patency support the hypothesis that tubal "plugs" may be involved in proximal tubal blockage.

To assess the ability of color duplex scrotal ultrasonography to detect subclinical varicoceles and confirm the diagnosis of clinical varicoceles. ⋯ Confirmatory studies are needed to support the ultrasonographic diagnosis of varicoceles before considering surgical repair.

Randomized Controlled Trial Clinical TrialA gonadotropin-releasing hormone agonist versus a low-dose oral contraceptive for pelvic pain associated with endometriosis.
To evaluate the efficacy of goserelin versus a low-dose cyclic oral contraceptive (OC) in improving pelvic pain in women with endometriosis and to compare recurrence of symptoms during follow-up. ⋯ Low-dose cyclic OCs may be a valuable alternative for the treatment of dysmenorrhea and nonmenstrual pain associated with endometriosis. Symptoms recurred in most subjects 6 months after drug withdrawal.
