Vertebral artery (VA) injury poses a significant risk in cervical spine surgery, necessitating accurate preoperative assessment. This study aims to introduce and validate a novel approach that combines the Fast field echo that resembles a computed tomography using restricted echo spacing (FRACTURE) sequence with Time of Flight (TOF) Magnetic Resonance Angiography (MRA) for comprehensive evaluation of VA courses in the cervical spine. ⋯ The integration of the FRACTURE sequence and TOF MRA presents a promising methodology for the precise evaluation of VA courses in the cervical spine. This approach improves preoperative planning for cervical spine surgery with detailed anatomy and is a valuable alternative to conventional methods without contrast agents.

To evaluate the risk factors of new osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs) after percutaneous vertebroplasty (PVP). ⋯ Female, lower BMD (T-score of lumbar), prior vertebral fractures, and regular antiosteoporosis treatment were independent influencing factors. BMD (T-score of lumbar) lower than -3.350 would increase risk for new OVCF, and none osteoporotic treatment has detrimental effect on new onset fractures following PVP.

Delayed enhancing white matter lesions, a rare complication after stent-assisted coil embolization: A case report.
Delayed enhancing white matter lesions are a rare complication that develops after endovascular treatment of cerebral aneurysms, the etiology of which remains unclear. ⋯ Clinicians should be alert to this rare complication and should follow patients for a long time due to its fluctuating and long-term course.

This research discusses colloid cyst surgical concerns, with an emphasis on the value of a novel surgical classification based on anatomical sites. In the study, 59 patients who underwent surgical intervention between 2009 and 2022 and were diagnosed with colloid cysts via computed tomography scan and magnetic resonance imaging participated. ⋯ In summary, the surgical classification that has been suggested provides significant insights into the varied anatomical sites where colloid cysts might be found. Microneurosurgeons significantly need to be oriented about the possible sites of colloid cysts through this classification to achieve complete and curative resection and reduce the likelihood of recurrence.

To report the operative outcomes after treating vertebral osteomyelitis patients with an anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion procedure using recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 (rhBMP-2) as graft material. ⋯ This study demonstrates a fusion rate of 100% with no reoperations reported. Recombinant human bone morphogenetic protein-2 could be considered and further researched as grafting material for anterior cervical corpectomy and fusion procedures in cervical osteomyelitis patients.
