High C-Reactive Protein/ Albumin Ratio Predicts Mortality and Hemorrhage in Stroke Patients Undergoing Mechanical Thrombectomy: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis.
Stroke outcomes are multifactorial, and the C-Reactive Protein to Albumin Ratio (CAR) has emerged as a potential prognostic marker. This study aims to evaluate CAR prognostic significance in stroke. ⋯ Elevated CAR emerges as an effective marker in assessing unfavorable outcomes in stroke patients with moderately high sensitivity and specificity. High CAR levels exhibited statistically significant mortality and hemorrhage in stroke patients undergoing mechanical thrombectomy.

Meta Analysis Comparative Study
Efficacy and safety of cortical bone trajectory screws versus pedicle screws in lumbar fusion: a systematic review and meta-analysis.
A systematic review and meta-analysis was conducted to compare the efficacy and safety of cortical bone trajectory (CBT) screws and traditional pedicle screws in lumbar fusion. ⋯ CBT and TPS have analogous safety profiles when applied to lumbar fusion, but the clinical efficacy of CBT is superior to that of TPS to some extent, and the procedure is less invasive with faster recovery.

Neurosurgical Management of Spinal Epithelioid Hemangioendothelioma: Systematic Review & Illustrative Case Presentation.
Epithelioid hemangioendothelioma (EHE) is a rare vascular tumor predominantly arising in soft tissue. We report a rare case of thoracic spinal EHE with pulmonary metastasis. ⋯ EHE is an exceedingly rare tumor that may present with a wide swath of clinical symptoms. At present, no guidelines or formal treatment recommendations have been established. Surgical debulking has demonstrated efficacy as a front-line treatment, particularly in the setting of compressive neurologic dysfunction; data regarding adjuvant chemoradiation are less consistently reported, mandating further study.

Neurosurgery and social media: A bibliometric analysis of scientific production from 2004-2023.
Neurosurgery is a rapidly advancing surgical specialty. Social media has significantly impacted the landscape of advancements in the field of neurosurgery. Research on the subject of neurosurgery and social media plays a vital role in combating disability and mortality due to neurological diseases, especially in trauma-affected individuals by increasing cooperation and sharing of clinical experiences between neurosurgeons via social media. This study aimed to evaluate the global neurosurgery and social media research performance from 2004 to 2023. ⋯ Exploring neurosurgery on social media enhances global collaboration, utilizing dynamic platforms for real-time knowledge exchange and holds immense potential for the field's global advancement.

Spinal cord injury (SCI) is a significant public health issue, leading to physical, psychological, and social complications. Machine learning (ML) algorithms have shown potential in diagnosing and predicting the functional and neurologic outcomes of subjects with SCI. ML algorithms can predict scores for SCI classification systems and accurately predict outcomes by analyzing large amounts of data. This systematic review aimed to examine the performance of ML algorithms for diagnosing and predicting the outcomes of subjects with SCI. ⋯ ML and deep learning (DL) have shown great potential in various aspects of SCI. ML and DL algorithms have been employed multiple times in predicting and diagnosing patients with SCI. While there are studies on diagnosing acute SCI using DL algorithms, further research is required in this area.
