Comparative StudyLung Ultrasonography: A Viable Alternative to Chest Radiography in Children with Suspected Pneumonia?
To determine the interrater reliability (IRR) of lung ultrasonography (LUS) and chest radiography (CXR) and evaluate the accuracy of LUS compared with CXR for detecting pediatric pneumonia compared with chest computed tomography (CT) scan. ⋯ LUS has a sufficiently high IRR for detection of consolidation. Compared with CT, LUS and CXR have similar sensitivity, but CXR is more specific for findings indicating pneumonia.

Multicenter Study Clinical TrialLung Ultrasound for Diagnosing Pneumothorax in the Critically Ill Neonate.
To evaluate the accuracy of lung ultrasound for the diagnosis of pneumothorax in the sudden decompensating patient. ⋯ Lung ultrasound shows high accuracy in detecting pneumothorax in the critical infant, outperforming clinical evaluation and reducing time to imaging diagnosis and drainage.

Emergency Department Visits and Readmissions among Children after Gastrostomy Tube Placement.
To define the incidence of 30-day postdischarge emergency department (ED) visits and hospital readmissions following pediatric gastrostomy tube (GT) placement across all procedural services (Surgery, Interventional-Radiology, Gastroenterology) in 38 freestanding Children's Hospitals. ⋯ GT placement is associated with high rates of ED revisits and hospital readmissions in the first 30 days after hospital discharge. The association of nonmodifiable risk factors such as race/ethnicity and medical complexity is an initial step toward understanding this population so that interventions can be developed to decrease these potentially preventable occurrences given their importance among accountable care organizations.

Psychological Factors Associated with Delayed Symptom Resolution in Children with Concussion.
To characterize the psychological factors associated with persistent symptoms after pediatric concussion. ⋯ Somatization is associated with delayed symptom resolution in this cohort of children with concussion. Postconcussive symptoms lasting at least 1 month may warrant referral to a neuropsychologist familiar with postconcussion care.

Multicenter Study Comparative Study Observational StudyEmergency Department Utilization for Mental Health in American Indian Children.
To examine emergency department (ED) visits for mental health concerns by American Indian children in a multicenter cohort. To analyze demographic and clinical factors, the types of mental health concerns, and repeat mental health visits. ⋯ Differences were noted in mental health visits between American Indian and white children and were influenced by age. These findings warrant further investigation into care-seeking patterns and treatment for mental health in American Indian children.
