COVID-19 is caused by SARS-CoV-2 virus and turned into a pandemic in a short time, affects many organs and systems, especially the nervous system. In the present study, it was aimed to determine the morphological and volumetric changes in cortical and subcortical structures in recovered COVID-19 patients. ⋯ As a result, it was seen that COVID-19 negatively affected many structures related to the nervous system. This study is a pioneering study to determine the consequences of COVID-19, especially in the nervous system, and to determine the etiology of these possible problems (Tab. 4, Fig. 5, Ref. 25). Prospective evaluation of the results of endoscopic lumbar discectomy. ⋯ Endoscopic discectomy provides significant pain relief and improves the patient's ability to perform activities of daily living, contributing to greater satisfaction. It is a safe method with a low risk of surgical and neurological complications (Tab. 3, Fig. 3, Ref. 27).

Circular RNAs (circRNAs), a class of non-coding RNAs, has been proved as an essential driver of hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) progression. However, the aim of this study is to explore the role of hsa_circ_0097009 (circ_0097009) in HCC progression. ⋯ We found that circ_0097009 and RNF38 expressions were markedly higher, but miR-568 expression was significantly lower in HCC. Circ_0097009 knockdown blocked HCC cell cloning, proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis and facilitated apoptosis. MiR-568 was a target of circ_0097009 in HCC cells. MiR-568 interference could attenuate the circ_0097009 knockdown-induced inhibition on HCC cells progress. MiR-568 depressed cell clonal formation, proliferation, migration, invasion, angiogenesis and promotion of apoptosis, by targeting RNF38, and RNF38 overexpression reversed the suppression of miR-568 in HCC cells. Also, circ_0097009 knockdown blocked tumor growth in vivoCONCLUSION: Together, this study indicated that the oncogenic function of circ_0097009 in HCC, and circ_0097009/miR-568/RNF38 axis was expected to be a novel therapeutic option for HCC patients (Tab. 1, Fig. 7, Ref. 33). nfrared thermography as a complementary method when diagnosing birth-related brachial plexus injury.
The main objective of this study was to determine whether infrared thermography could be used as an efficient technique to evaluate the impact of a birth-related brachial plexus injury on the temperature of the injured arm and whether it could be used as a complementary method when diagnosing this injury in clinical praxis. ⋯ From our results, it can be confirmed that the birth-related brachial plexus injury affects the temperature of the affected arm, especially in the area of the cubital fossa, to an extent that the thermal camera is capable of detecting significant temperature differences between the healthy and injured arms (Tab. 3, Fig. 7, Ref. 13). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) is a common chronic inflammatory lung disease with high mortality and morbidity rates. Obesity, various comorbid diseases, and inflammation often coexist in chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), exhibiting a complex interaction with disease severity. The aim of the study was to examine the relationship between COPD markers and obesity, the Charlson Comorbidity Index (CCI), and neutrophil/lymphocyte ratio (NLR). ⋯ As a result, it is essential to screen obese patients with COPD, who are among the groups with the highest incidence of comorbidities, in terms of such diseases that exacerbate the symptoms of their disease. Findings may support the potential applicability of simple blood count indices (such as NLR) in the clinical assessment of disease in stable COPD patients (Tab. 4, Fig. 1, Ref. 46).
