To establish an appropriate clinical protocol for early photoscreening in 12-to-24-month-old children at pediatric well-baby clinics. ⋯ At pediatric well-baby clinics, selective photoscreening among 12-to-24-month-old children with a birth weight <3000 g or a history of major systemic diseases helped reducing the number of children need to be screened and conserving medical resources yet identifying children at risk for timely eye care.

To analyse the association of thoracic cage size and configuration with outcomes following in-hospital cardiac arrest (IHCA). ⋯ Thoracic circumference and anatomic configuration might be associated with IHCA outcomes. This proof-of-concept study suggested that a one-size-fits-all resuscitation technique might not be suitable. Further investigation is needed to investigate the method of providing personalized resuscitation tailored to patient needs.

To investigate the clinical feature of tuberculosis and BCG adverse effects in children and to examine whether delayed BCG vaccination changes the incidence of BCG osteomyelitis. ⋯ Children with EPTB plus PTB had more fever, lower lymphocyte count and higher CRP. The median time interval from vaccination to diagnosis of BCG osteomyelitis was 16.4 months and the proportion of BCG osteomyelitis among children with BCG-associated adverse effects was not affected by delayed vaccination in this study.

Sorafenib has been shown to prolong the progression free survival (PFS) of advanced radioiodine (RAI) refractory differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) and has been approved by the FDA as the result of the phase III DECISION trial. Sorafenib has been reimbursed for the treatment of RAI refractory DTC in Taiwan since Jan 2017. High percentage of adverse events (AE) was noted in DECISION trial. We conducted a study to show the real-world experience of sorafenib in Taiwan. ⋯ Higher maintenance dose of sorafenib is associated with longer PFS while starting from half dose is feasible to minimize the incidence of high grade toxicities in the real-world use of sorafenib.
