Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Comparing the effects of blended learning and traditional instruction on basic life support for laypersons: A randomized controlled trial.
Blended learning offers the advantages of both instructor-led and self-instruction methods in basic life support (BLS). Our study aims to compare the effects of blended learning with those of traditional instructor-led methods on the performance of laypersons taking BLS courses. ⋯ Blended learning with three rounds of hands-on practice may be considered an alternative teaching method.

Effect of tibolone versus hormone replacement therapy on lower urinary tract symptoms and sexual function.
Few studies have compared the effects of tibolone versus hormone replacement therapy (HRT) on lower urinary tract symptoms and female sexual function. The current study aimed to compare these treatments. ⋯ Despite the limited effect, tibolone seems to have more benefit in nocturia than HRT. In addition, tibolone seems to have benefits on overall low urinary tract storage symptoms; and both tibolone and HRT seem to have beneficial effects on female sexual function, despite there were no significant differences between tibolone and HRT.

Congenital nephrotic syndrome (CNS) is one of the important causes of end-stage kidney disease in children. Studies on the genotype, phenotype, and clinical outcome in infants with CNS caused by genetic mutations are scarce. ⋯ The majority of patients with CNS in Taiwan were caused by OSGEP followed by WT1 mutation. R247Q is the hotspot mutation of OSGEP in Taiwan. CNS patients in Taiwan suffer from significant morbidity and mortality.

This study aimed to investigate the influence of immunonutritional factors on treatment-related toxicities and survival outcomes in patients with cervical cancer undergoing definitive radiochemotherapy. ⋯ Pretreatment immunonutritional measures serve as quantitative biomarkers for predicting survivals and treatment toxicities in patients with cervical cancer treated with definitive radiochemotherapy.
