Sarcopenia and decreased muscle strength (dynapenia) are emerging health issues. However, the study exploring muscle strength changes of both upper and lower limbs at the same time among all age groups is rare. This study aims to investigate the muscle strength and to establish a muscle strength norm of an ostensibly healthy non-diabetic Asian population. ⋯ These data will be useful as normal controls for muscle strength of specific disease groups. The application of the cutoffs from these data and their comparisons with the recommended cutoffs from various guidelines worth further exploration.

Alzheimer's disease (AD) is complicated by multiple environmental and polygenetic factors. The accuracy of artificial neural networks (ANNs) incorporating the common factors for identifying AD has not been evaluated. ⋯ The ANN model demonstrated good sensitivity, specificity, and accuracy in AD classification. The top-weighted SNPs for AD prediction were CASS4 rs7274581, PICALM rs3851179, and TOMM40 rs2075650. The ANN model performed similarly to RF and SVM, indicating its capability to handle the complexity of AD as a disease entity.
