Across the world, people are exposed to pesticide residues in agricultural products. Various materials are used to deal with effects of these residues. Considering the wide use of dichlorvos and acetamiprid in crops, pesticide residues in cucumber and its effects on the biochemical parameters of mice were calculated, and the protective role of donkey colostrum (DC) to deal with the pesticide effects was investigated. ⋯ Adding pesticides to mice drinking water causes liver disorders and DC can be effective in protecting these damages.

Diabetic kidney disease has substantial burden and limited therapeutic options. An inadequate understanding of the complex gene regulatory circuits underlying this disorder contributes to the insufficiency of current treatment strategies. MicroRNAs (miRNAs) play a crucial role as regulators of functionally related gene networks. Previously, mmu-mir-802-5p was identified as the sole dysregulated miRNA in both the kidney cortex and medulla of diabetic mice. This study aims to investigate the role of miR-802-5p in diabetic kidney disease. ⋯ These findings suggest that miR-802-5p is a critical regulator of diabetic nephropathy in the cortex and medulla compartments, contributing to disease pathogenesis through the renin-angiotensin axis and inflammatory pathways.

Previous research has emphasized the importance of efficient ventilation in suppressing COVID-19 transmission in indoor spaces, yet suitable ventilation rates have not been suggested. ⋯ Natural cross-ventilation with masks effectively suppressed airborne viruses, lowering potential infections and disease transmission. The study recommends suitable ventilation rates to reduce COVID-19 infection risks in indoor spaces.

The incidence of gastric cancer is known to be high in the elderly population. Identification of the best perioperative chemotherapy regimen is challenging in patients with resectable gastric cancer. In this study, we aimed to evaluate and compare the outcomes and safety of epirubicin, cisplatin, and 5-fluorouracil (ECF), docetaxel, cisplatin, and 5-fluorouracil (DCF), oxaliplatin plus 5-Fluorouracil and leucovorin (FOLFOX), and docetaxel, oxaliplatin, leucovorin, and 5-Fluorouracil (FLOT) chemotherapy regimens to identify the most appropriate treatment option for elderly patients with resectable gastric cancer. ⋯ Considering the higher rate of adverse events in the DCF group, besides the significant improvement of OS and the acceptable adverse event profile of patients treated with the FLOT regimen, it can be proposed that this chemotherapy regimen is the most appropriate treatment option for elderly patients with resectable gastric cancer.
