Different imaging techniques are used in the diagnosis of breast cancer. The low sensitivity of mammography to detect cancer in the dense breast parenchyma and the lack of standard application of digital breast tomosynthesis (DBT) are some of the problems. Therefore, breast cancer imaging techniques should be compared in terms of conspicuity and characterization of lesions. ⋯ In conclusion, it was shown that standard images and SM images obtained from DBT did not differ significantly in terms of conspicuity and characterization of lesions. Thus, DBT is significantly superior to the DM and SM images. While the DM and SM images are more successful in showing large lesions and lesion detection in nondense breasts, DBT images were not affected by lesion size and breast density.

Does ligamentotaxis reduce the risk of avascular necrosis of the talus after lateral subtalar dislocation.
Lateral subtalar dislocations are rare and severe injuries caused by high-energy trauma, and they require urgent treatment. We reported two cases of lateral subtalar dislocation, which were treated with different methods. ⋯ The final outcome was poor, with avascular necrosis of the talus. Our opinion is that ligamentotaxis of the ankle and subtalar joint with unilateral external fixation unloads the talus and reduces the possibility of the development of avascular necrosis of the talus.

Thyroid dysfunctions are among the most common endocrine disorders in society. An increase or decrease in thyroid hormone levels may present with neurological and/or psychiatric symptoms. In this study, we aimed both to determine the prevalence of this disorder in our region by determining the frequency of thyroid dysfunction in patients diagnosed with major depressive disorder in our outpatient clinic and to raise awareness during the evaluation process of patients. ⋯ Obtained data have shown that thyroid dysfunctions can be encountered frequently in patients presenting with depressive complaints. It is thought that the evaluation of patients with depressive complaints in terms of thyroid dysfunction, and the treatment of the underlying thyroid dysfunction will contribute to the regression of psychiatric symptoms.

A sewing needle as a urethral foreign body: A case report and literature review.
Foreign bodies in the urethra can occur by self-insertion, and patients often hide the symptoms due to embarrassment. Foreign bodies act as a focus for infection and abscess formation and result in perforation or fistula when not detected on time. Foreign bodies can display symptoms such as frequent urination, dysuria, hematuria, urethrorrhagia, and obstruction. This case discusses a self-inserted urethral sewing needle that was removed cystoscopically from an adolescent.

This study evaluated the change in IL-16 levels in patients with high-grade glial tumors undergoing radiotherapy (RT) and healthy individuals (control group). ⋯ The application of RT reduces the overall IL-16 levels, suggesting the efficacy of RT, as well as the role of IL-16 in tumorigenesis.
