To evaluate the expression of Von Hippel Lindau (VHL) gene in diagnosed cases of renal cell carcinoma. ⋯ The present study shows that majority of CCRCC showed VHL mutation including the hybrid tumor with clear cell component in our population.

To compare the awareness about nephrology and kidney diseases in medical officers and postgraduate trainee doctors working in institutes with and without nephrology departments. ⋯ Awareness of the Medical Officers and postgraduate doctors is poor regarding nephrology and kidney diseases. Doctors working in institutes with established nephrology services have better knowledge than other units. Working experience of doctors improve the practice significantly.

To assess inpatient management of non-critically ill type 2 diabetics with different insulin regimen. ⋯ In non-critically ill type 2 diabetic patients the basal bolus regimen is superior to sliding and pre-mixed insulin regimen. Sliding scale should be discouraged in non-critically ill type 2 diabetic patients.

To investigate the role of three genetic polymorphisms of ABC proteins in response to chemotherapy and overall survival of osteosarcoma patients. ⋯ ABCB1 C3435T polymorphism may be used as a genetic predictor of clinical outcome in osteosarcoma patients treated with chemotherapy. However, no association was found between polymorphisms in ABCG2 C421A and ABCC3 C-211T and clinical outcome of osteosarcoma.

To investigate the potential harmful effects of potassium dichromate and magnesium sulphate causing oxidative stress and reproductive toxicity in adult male mice model. ⋯ We concluded from present study that potassium dichromate and magnesium sulphate causes oxidative stress by generation of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and causing DNA damage in testicular cells leading to adverse reproductive abnormalities.
