To determine pathogen burden and susceptibility pattern of multi-drug resistant (MDR) Pseudomonas aeruginosa isolates from clinical specimens in Karachi. ⋯ Increasing frequency of infections due to MDR P. aeruginosa is an emerging threat in our set up which can be prevented by prescribing antibiotics judiciously. Consistent lab detection and surveillance regarding this resistant pathogen is compulsory for providing effective health care to community.

Solitary fibrous tumor are rare and benign, soft tissue growth of any part of the human body including orbit and eyes. This case report describes a middle age female presented with a slow-growing painless mass in the superior orbital sulcus in the left eye. The lesion was surgically excised revealing the microscopic features characteristic of solitary fibrous tumor, with immunohistochemically reactivity for CD34 and STAT6 stains. Solitary fibrous tumor (SFT) is typically cured with complete surgical excision and CD34 immunohistochemistry proved to be a useful adjunct to the microscopic diagnosis of this type of tumor.

To discuss the value of applying magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging (DWI) to evaluate inflammatory activity from chronic viral hepatitis B. ⋯ Magnetic resonance diffusion-weighted imaging technology has high clinical value for evaluating the inflammatory activity from chronic hepatitis B, and the measured ADC value corresponds to the pathological grade well, so this method is worth clinical promotion and application.

To assess usefulness of flipped style of teaching conducted as small-group format in Cardiovascular and Respiration module for Year-I undergraduate medical students at Aga Khan University. ⋯ The flipped classroom approach showed promise in teaching and learning of 'Pathophysiology of Shock' by clinical scenarios in small group discussions. Implementation of flipped class room activity on a wider scale however needs careful selection of course objectives and logistics.
