The effectiveness of the trans-theoretical model in managing adult obese and overweight individuals.
The prevalence of obesity is gradually increasing in our country and worldwide. Being obese and overweight are risk factors for chronic diseases. Obesity has a multifactorial etiology, so treatment should involve lifestyle changes, psychological strategies, pharmacologic treatment, and bariatric surgery. The present study aimed to investigate the effectiveness of the trans-theoretical stages of change (TTM SOC) model in managing adult obese and overweight patients. ⋯ The trans-theoretical model is effective in managing adult obese and overweight individuals and also in glycemic control in obese Type-2 diabetics.

To determine the diagnostic accuracy of Diffusion Weighted MRI in differentiating malignant from benign liver lesions taking histopathology as gold standard. ⋯ DW MRI scan has high diagnostic accuracy and being accurate in making a diagnosis and differentiation of benign from malignant focal liver lesion would decrease need of invasive modality of histopathology.

To investigate the clinical value of the expression levels of tumor protein D52 (TPD52) and miR-133a on the prognosis assessment of pancreatic cancer surgery. ⋯ TPD52 is expressed at a high level whereas miR-133a at a low level in pancreatic cancer tissues, both of which together with low differentiation of pancreatic cancer and III-IV stage of TNM constitute independent risk factors affecting the surgical prognosis of patients with pancreatic cancer.

To explore the prognostic value of ankle brachial index (ABI), serum microribonucleic acid-103 (miR-103), and lipoprotein associated phospholipase A2 (LP-PLA2) indicators in patients with acute ischemic stroke (AIS). ⋯ Abnormal ABI, and high serum miR-103 and LP-PLA2 levels are independent risk factors for poor prognosis in AIS patients. They can be used as important indicators for predicting the prognosis of AIS.
