The trail investigated the effect of small dose sufentanil or fentanyl administrated before the end of surgery in reducing the incidence of emergence agitation after anesthesia with sevoflurane in preschool children undergoing ophthalmology surgery, and the incidence of emergence agitation of sevoflurane anesthesia. ⋯ We conclude that the incidence of emergence agitation after sevoflurane anesthesia in children undergoing ophthalmology surgery is up to 63.33%. The single dose of sufentanil or fentanyl can reduce the emergence agitation in children anesthesized with sevoflurane, with no adverse effects. The effect of sufentanil is better than fentanyl.

The condyloma acuminatum (venereal wart) is a benign epithelial proliferation that occurs most frequently on the mucous membranes of the perianal and genital areas of men and women. The transmissible etiological agents of this lesion are papillomaviruses. ⋯ This patient also had some genital lesions and tested positive for the human papilloma virus which is to be expected due to fact that intraoral presentation of condyloma acuminatum is a lot more frequent in patients who have anogenital lesions according to the literature. This report describes the etiology, diagnosis, treatment and follow-up an intraoral condyloma.

Mesenchymal stromal cells (MSCs) are considered as an excellent source in regenerative medicine, but availability and ethical problems limited their routine use. Therefore, another available source with easy procedure and exempt from ethical debate is important. The purpose of this study is to isolate and characterize the MSCs from human placenta. The stromal cells were isolated from Placental Decidua Basalis (PDB-MSC), Umbilical cord Wharton's Jelly (WJ-MSC) and Amniotic Membrane (AM-MSC). ⋯ The fetal derives stromal cells; especially the early passages of WJ-MSCs are available supplies for large scale production of MSC for using in clinical studies or research projects.

We conducted a cohort study to investigate the association of three common SNPs of vascular endothelial growth factors (VEGF) gene (+1612G/A, -634C/G and +936G/C) with clinical outcome of osteosarcoma in a Chinese population. ⋯ We found that VEGF -634G/C and +936T/C polymorphisms may affect the prognosis of osteosarcoma patients. These finding may be useful for predicting the clinical outcome of patients with Osteosarcoma (OS). Further studies are greatly needed to confirm the clinical significance of these results.

Objective : In this study, we aimed to investigate changes of peripheral Th17 and Treg cells frequencies in the newly-diagnosed Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia (CLL) patients for 12 months. Methods : In this research, 50 CLL patients were enrolled. Circulating Th1, Th17 cells and CD4+CD25+Foxp3+Treg cells were analyzed by flow cytometry. Plasma levels of related cytokines were detected by enzyme-linked immuno sorbent assay (ELISA). The study was carried out from January 2012 to October 2013 at Department of Laboratory Medicine, West China Hospital, Sichuan University, Chengdu, P.R. China. ⋯ Our study suggested that Th17 cells may play important role in the immune regulation of CLL, and may become a new target in CLL therapy.
