To explore the correlation between the plasma renalase level of coronary artery disease (CAD) patients and the degree of coronary artery stenosis. ⋯ Plasma renalase level was correlated with CAD, the changes of which may reflect the degree of coronary artery stenosis. Therefore, plasma renalase level can be used to indicate the progression of CAD.

The objective of the study was to determine the demographic factors affecting Quality Of Life (QOL) of hemodialysis (HD) patients. ⋯ Gender, age, marital status, unemployment, residence of rural area, economical status, distance covered to reach hospital, mode of transport, total time consumed in getting HD, effect QOL in HD patient. Education level is a positive factor for improving QOL of HD patients.

To observe effect of peak estradiol (E2) levels on outcome after intra cytoplasmic sperm injection (ICSI). ⋯ A high serum E2 measured on OI day can predict success of treatment after ICSI. Females who had high peak E2 had greater number of retrieved, mature and fertilized oocytes with thick endometrial lining that helped in implantation and clinical pregnancy.

The aim of this study was to compare the outcomes of liver transplantation and resection for very early hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC, ≤ 2 cm) patients with Child-pugh A liver function and portal hypertension. ⋯ Liver resection can offer satisfactory outcomes for very early HCC patients with well liver function and portal hypertension and should be considered as the first line choice for selected patients.

Objective : To determine the prevalence of domestic violence and associated factors among married women in a semi-rural area of western Turkey. ⋯ Our study found higher prevalence of domestic violence than expected. Verbal violence is also a significant problem particularly in terms of its consequences. It was concluded that further informative studies are needed on domestic violence to find out the causative factors to chalk out preventive strategies.
