BetaEval Global: Prospective, Multinational, Observational Cohort Study of Patients Using BETACONNECT®.
Patients with multiple sclerosis (MS) would benefit from continued long-term treatment with disease-modifying therapies, and autoinjectors may help improve patients' satisfaction with therapy, thereby increasing adherence rates. BETACONNECT® is an autoinjector for interferon beta-1b designed to improve the injection experience for patients. The BetaEval Global study assessed medication intake in patients using BETACONNECT to further investigate the value of this autoinjector. ⋯ Overall, the results from BetaEval Global demonstrated that in this cohort of patients with RRMS or CIS on interferon beta-1b, use of the BETACONNECT autoinjector was associated with high rates of compliance, adherence, and patient satisfaction.

Long-Term Benefit and Withdrawal Effect of Statins After Percutaneous Coronary Intervention: A Nationwide Population-Based Cohort Study.
Despite indubitable evidence for the cardiovascular benefits of statins, there have been concerns that statin discontinuation may cause negative effects known as "statin withdrawal syndrome." This study aimed to assess the benefit and the withdrawal effect of statins after percutaneous coronary intervention (PCI). ⋯ After PCI, there was an increased cardiovascular risk during the statin withdrawal period, especially with the use of high-intensity statins. To maximize the beneficial effect and to avoid the withdrawal effect of statins, high-risk patients need to adhere to taking statins without discontinuation.

Health-Related Quality of Life and the Relationship to Treatment Satisfaction in Patients with Multiple Sclerosis: Insights from a Large Observational Study.
In patients with multiple sclerosis (MS), fatigue, depression, and physical disability are important determinants that negatively affect health-related quality of life (HRQoL). In studies about MS, HRQoL and treatment satisfaction are emerging endpoints representing the patients' perspective. However, the association of HRQoL and MS treatment satisfaction has not been evaluated so far. ⋯ Satisfaction with the effectiveness and side effects of treatment was part of the main independent explanatory variables for mental and physical HRQoL in patients with MS. To improve HRQoL, patients' needs and satisfaction measures may be integral part of disease management beyond treatment of physical disability, depression or fatigue.
