Factors Associated with Health-Seeking Preference Among People Who Were Supposed to Cough for More Than 2 Weeks: A Cross-Sectional Study in Southeast China.
The health-seeking preference of people with a cough >2 weeks had not been extensively researched in southeast China. The study aimed to explore factors associated with health-seeking preference, which could provide more evidence to improve individuals' appropriate health-seeking behavior. ⋯ Participants with little knowledge of TB had a low level of appropriate health-seeking preference. Appropriate health-seeking preference of the participants improved with increased key knowledge level of TB.

The Association Between Beliefs and Adherence to Inhaled Controller Medication Among Older Adults with Asthma: A Cross-Sectional Study in Primary Care.
While illness perceptions and medication beliefs have been shown to be associated with inhaled corticosteroid (ICS) adherence in younger adults with asthma, their impact on older adults is less understood. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of ICS adherence among older Asian adults and to assess the association between ICS adherence, illness perceptions and medication beliefs. ⋯ Four in ten older patients with asthma were adherent to ICS. Perception of medication necessity, chronicity of illness, concerns and use of ICS-LABA medication were associated with adherence.

A Qualitative Exploration of Facilitators and Barriers for Diabetes Self-Management Behaviors Among Persons with Type 2 Diabetes from a Socially Disadvantaged Area.
Enhancing diabetes self-management (DSM) in patients with type 2 diabetes (T2D) can reduce the risk of complications, enhance healthier lifestyles, and improve quality of life. Furthermore, vulnerable groups struggle more with DSM. ⋯ Vulnerable patients with T2D preferred individualized and practice-based education tailored to their needs. More attention should be paid to training HCPs to handle feelings of helplessness and lack of motivation among vulnerable groups, particularly among ethnic minority patients, and to tailor care to ethnic minorities.

Rheumatic Heart Disease Patients' Adherence to Secondary Prophylaxis and Associated Factors at Hospitals in Jimma Zone, Southwest Ethiopia: A Multicenter Study.
Rheumatic heart disease (RHD) is a major cause of preventable premature cardiovascular-related death in developing countries. However, information regarding adherence rates and associated factors is limited and inconsistent in Ethiopia. ⋯ Patients with class I and II heart failure and those living in rural areas, especially >30 km from a hospital, were identified to be poorly adherent to secondary prophylaxis.

Factors Influencing Compliance with Auricular Acupressure Therapy in Patients with Cancer-Related Fatigue.
Patient compliance can influence the effect of auricular acupressure used to manage cancer-related fatigue (CRF). ⋯ In clinical nursing practice, attention should be paid to the analysis of the facilitating and hindering factors during the implementation of auricular acupressure therapy as well as the development of targeted intervention measures to improve patient compliance so as to enhance the effectiveness of auricular acupressure.
