Exploring Patient Preferences for Information About CT Radiation Exposure: Bridging the Gap Between Patient Preference and Physician Practice.
CT scan utilizes ionizing radiation poses a danger to the patient's health. Thus, telling the patient about ionizing radiation would be critical in promoting shared decision-making and improving patient-doctor communication. However, few studies have examined this topic broadly. ⋯ The vast majority of patients who underwent CT scans did not receive enough information about the harm of the scans. However, most of them preferred to know about this harm.

A Cross-Sectional Study Identifying Medication Adherence Technologies (MATech) in Sweden Using Behavior Change Techniques.
Poor medication adherence is a well-recognized problem, and behavior change techniques (BCTs) have shown promise in improving patient adherence to prescribed drug treatment. Through the utilization of medication adherence technologies (MATech), these BCT interventions could be delivered effectively in a person-centered way. MATech can be defined as systems, services or physical devices (hardware), with a digital component, used to support patients in their drug utilization. However, there is a lack of knowledge regarding their availability and to what extent they apply evidence-based BCTs. ⋯ Swedish-language MATech employing BCTs are available, encompassing both hardware and software solutions. There is a need to enhance the visibility of these technologies, enabling patients to discover and utilize the support they provide.

Subjective Rationalities of Nonadherence to Treatment and Vaccination in Healthcare Decision-Making.
In this short report contributing to the literature on treatment and vaccination adherence, nonadherence was examined from the perspective of decision-making (DM) practice in healthcare. The objective of this study was to survey the rationalities given for treatment nonadherence and their association with DM practice. ⋯ In medical DM, adherence to treatment and vaccination may be achieved through a recognition of patients' previous healthcare encounters and potential trust-related concerns, which could pose a risk for nonadherence. To be able to observe these risks, patient engagement and mutual trust should be priorities in decision support in healthcare.

Qualitative Comparison of Perceptions Regarding Patient Engagement for Patient Safety by Physicians, Nurses, and Patients.
Patient engagement in ensuring patient safety is widely acknowledged, there is still a need to explore how perceptions of patient engagement vary among different stakeholders within the healthcare system. We aimed to compare the perceptions regarding patient engagement for patient safety among physicians, nurses, and patients by exploring the perspectives. ⋯ All three groups agreed on the importance of patient engagement for patient safety but differed in its influencing factors. Efforts should be made to reduce the difference between the three groups on how to involve patients for patient safety.
