To study the clinical evaluation of recurrent respiratory papillomatosis (RRP) patients and the factors associated with the improvement in the Derkay's score as a measure of disease severity. ⋯ cidofovir treatment and higher Derkay's scores affected the disease improvement.
-
To determine the occurrence of Group B Streptococcus (GBS) infection in neonates and its associated risk factors in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, Saudi Arabia. ⋯ Neonatal GBS infection is prevalent in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah. Several risk factors may contribute to the occurrence of GBS infection including preterm labor, higher body temperature during delivery, prolonged premature rupture of membranes for more than 18 hours, and GBS bacteriuria. We recommend that larger multi-centric studies are needed in Al-Madinah Al-Munawarah, to study the magnitude of neonatal GBS infection and risk factors to develop a screening protocol in maternity and children's hospital.
-
To evaluate the impact of coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) vaccination on morbidity and mortality in adults hospitalized with COVID-19 during the omicron wave in the Jazan Region, Saudi Arabia. ⋯ Our study underscores the importance of a comprehensive approach for managing COVID-19 patients that includes vaccination against the disease.
-
To investigate the relationship between statin use and coronavirus disease-19 (COVID-19) severity. ⋯ Statins are associated with a higher risk of mortality and morbidity among patients hospitalized for COVID-19.
-
To investigate the long-term outcomes of differentiated thyroid cancer (DTC) and the predictive factors for excellent and incomplete responses to therapy on long-term follow-up of patients. ⋯ We strongly advocate incorporating age into recurrence risk assessment for patients with DTC.
