Randomized Controlled Trial Comparative Study
Monopolar electrodissection versus cold dissection tonsillectomy among children.
To compare cold dissection to monopolar tonsillectomy in terms of operative time, intraoperative bleeding, post operative bleeding, and pain. ⋯ Monopolar dissection tonsillectomy is a safe technique. It significantly reduces the operative time and intraoperative blood loss. However, it causes more pain on the 1st post operative day, while on the rest of the days until the 10th post operative day, there was no significant difference in pain between two sides.

Adding remifentanil to propofol and etomidate in cardioversion anesthesia.
To compare their effects on cardiorespiratoy and recovery parameters and side effects. ⋯ We can induce hypnosis with propofol 0.5 mg.kg(-1) or etomidate 0.1 mg.kg(-1) by adding remifentanil 0.75 microgram.kg-1 in cardioversion anesthesia. Although recovery parameters were longer in group E, and cardiorespiratory parameters were less stable in group P, their usage with remifentanil was both acceptable for cardioversion anesthesia.

Effect of hypotensive anesthesia on cognitive functions. A comparison of esmolol and remifentanil during tympanoplasty.
To compare the effects of esmolol and remifentanil, used as adjuncts for induced hypotension on surgical conditions and short-term cognitive functions, during tympanoplasty. ⋯ Remifentanil or esmolol provided adequate induced hypotension and similar operating conditions and their effects on cognitive functions in the short postoperative period are similar for tympanoplasty.

To evaluate the Humphrey visual field parameters in patients with pituitary adenoma and classify the visual field defects in this patient group. ⋯ Although ophthalmologists rarely have a role in the primary diagnosis of hypophyseal adenoma, routine ophthalmologic examination is still important. To detect early visual field abnormalities, automated perimetry should be performed as a part of routine examination in patients with suspected hypophyseal adenomas.

Rapid sequence induction and intubation with 1 mg/kg rocuronium bromide in cesarean section, comparison with suxamethonium.
To demonstrate that Rocuronium Bromide can be used for rapid sequence induction in emergency conditions. ⋯ Rocuronium Bromide 1 mg/kg can be safely used for rapid sequence induction in cesarean section and the intubating conditions are similar to those of Suxamethonium.
