Comparative Study[The use of artificial feeding during the resuscitation of heart surgery patients].
The data on the use of various schemes of artificial nutrition (AN) are reviewed in 137 patients with postoperative complications after cardiopulmonary bypass surgery. It has been established that AN as part of a complex therapy of patients in the early postoperative period has a correcting effect on metabolism and promotes the improvement of the patients' clinical condition. Rational combination of parenteral and enteral tube nutrition ensures adequate AN of cardiosurgical patients in the early postoperative period.

Comparative Study[The efferent therapy of the critical state due to status asthmaticus].
A total of 200 patients with severe infection-induced bronchial asthma (BA) admitted to hospital with a diagnosis of status asthmaticus (SA) have been subjected to complex examination. It has been demonstrated that SA is a severe combined toxemia that leads to insensitivity of bronchial receptor apparatus to broncholytic effects and requires efferent therapy. 50 out of 130 patients with I to II and III degree SA were resistant to conventional intensive care procedures. ⋯ EHS ensures positive hemodynamic and detoxicating effects, removing "critical" concentration of toxic ligands that block broncholytic adrenoreception. The use of efferent therapeutic techniques in SA makes it possible to reduce the mortality rate, promote the condition arrest, relieve the critical condition, reduce the doses of broncho- and spasmolytics, glucocorticoids, facilitate future drug withdrawal, and reduce the duration of the patients' stay in intensive care units.

[Organization and volume of work in the department of anesthesiology and resuscitation in a central district hospital].
The experience accumulated during organization and functioning of an anesthesiology and intensive care unit in a central district hospital is described. The efficacy of anesthesiological aid and intensive care has been demonstrated in conditions of a rural region. The authors believe advisable the establishment of anesthesiology and intensive care units in large central district hospitals.

[Effect of the nondepolarizing muscle relaxant atracurium in patients with vascular diseases].
Electric myographic examination was performed in 37 patients with atherosclerotic occlusive lesion in the great vessels. The patients were found to have concurrent impaired neuromuscular transmission that, however, produced no effects on the myoparalytic activity of the nondepolarizing relaxant atracurium (UK). ⋯ The lack of cumulative effects made the clinical effect of atracurium readily controlled and required no pharmacological antagonization at the end of surgery. Safe application of atracurium is useful in cardiovascular surgery.
