Angiofibrolipoma of the retromolar pad region: case report.
Angiofibrolipoma is a rare histopathological variant of lipoma, characterized by mature adipocytes, blood vessels and dense collagenous tissue. It is seldom seen in the oral and maxillofacial region. Diagnosis of angiofibrolipoma is only possible based on its histopathological features. ⋯ The mass was found as a small prominent lesion that had grown gradually for 1.5 years. Our differential diagnosis was irritation fibroma and fibrous pyogenic granuloma. This report also includes a comprehensive reference to previously reported data, as found through PubMed and Google Search, which revealed this type of case rarely has been documented.
