Controlled Clinical Trial[Clinical practice and evaluation of relative fluid resuscitation formula at burn shock stage].
To evaluate the application of the Third Military Medical University (TMMU) formula for fluid resuscitation on the major burn patients during shock stage. ⋯ TMMU formula for fluid resuscitation is a feasible option for major burn patients. Individual fluid resuscitation, guided by the physiological response, is also important and necessary.

[Improving myocardial mechanics parameters of severe burn rabbits with oral fluid resuscitation].
To investigate the protective effect of oral fluid resuscitation on cardiac function in severe burn rabbits. ⋯ Effective oral fluid therapy in severe burn rabbits during 24 hours after burn can ameliorate myocardial mechanics parameters. The amount of fluid resuscitation can be estimated according to relevant formula for delayed fluid resuscitation in burn rabbits.

[Discussion on the fluid resuscitation and monitoring during burn shock period].
The index of monitoring burn shock resuscitation includes clinical signs and symptoms, laboratory examinations, hemodynamic variables. In recent years, there exists a tendency that the amount of transfused fluid for burn shock resuscitation is notably increased and complications of some cases, such as abdominal compartment syndrome have been reported. ⋯ Instead of hemodynamic variables, urinary output combined with other traditional variables still should be considered primary criteria of adequate fluid therapy. Specification of the variables of monitoring burn shock resuscitation is also the basis to revise and optimize the fluid resuscitation formula.

[Study on activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase pathway in lung tissue of rats with smoke inhalation injury].
To investigate the activation of mitogen-activated protein kinase (MAPK) pathway and the expression of inflammatory cytokine in lung tissue of rats with smoke inhalation injury, and to explore the injury mechanism. ⋯ The obvious inflammatory response in lung tissue can be induced by the poisonous gas released from the combustion of nonmetal materials in airtight cabin, and activate the expression of kinases in MAPK pathway, which may be one of mechanisms for lung injury induced by poisonous gas.

Improvement in early burn treatment has been realized, the mortality of burn shock has been decreased. However, the treatment of burn shock is still inadequate and occult hypoperfusion is usually occurred. This may be difficult to identify the appropriate resuscitation endpoint. ⋯ Traditional endpoints, such as blood pressure, urine output are useful in managing mild and moderate burn shock. Additional endpoints that evaluate the adequacy of global and regional perfusion and oxygenation at the tissue level should be used in treatment of severe burn injury. Now the most useful parameters may be blood pressure, urine output, serum lactate, BE and CVP, SCVO2.
