Review[Advancement in the research of fractional carbon dioxide laser in treating burn scars].
This paper reviews the new progress in the research of fractional carbon dioxide laser in treating hypertrophic scar after burn injury, which remains a challenging problem for burn care surgeons. There have been many traditional therapeutic approaches, such as compression remedy, operation, and so on. ⋯ In recent years, the newly developed fractional carbon dioxide laser has been employed to treat different kinds of scars, and it has been proved to be effective in terms of an improvement of scar color, texture, and rigidity. It seems to be a promising method for scar treatment in future.

[Epidemiological investigation of 605 patients with chemical burns in northeastern China].
To investigate the pathogenic and clinical characteristics of chemical burns in recent years, so as to provide reference for its prevention and treatment. ⋯ The patients with chemical burns accounted for a high proportion of the burn patients admitted to our unit in the same period. The chemical burns mainly involved young males with the relatively close time of onset, and acid and alkali were the main causative factors in the process of industrial production. Case Reports[Treatment of a patient with massive unhealed wound accompanied by wound sepsis in late stage after burn injury].
This article analyzed the medical records of a patient with 90% TBSA unhealed wound accompanied with wound sepsis 50 days post burn (PBD) and to discuss the ideal strategies of treatment for such patients in such condition. This was a 24-year-old male patient suffering from flame burn with 95% TBSA wound and severe inhalation injury. Meek skin grafting with autologous scalp was performed once to the thoracic and abdominal regions; intermingled skin grafting of autologous scalp microskin and large sheet of allograft was performed twice to the limbs within PBD 31. ⋯ Autologous skin grafting was performed whenever source of healthy skin was available. Systemic use of effective antibiotics, nutritional support and therapy, and other comprehensive measures also contributed to the success of treatment of this patient suffering from wound sepsis. The patient was cured and discharged on PBD 145.

[Epidemiological investigation of 615 patients with chemical burns in eastern China].
To investigate the epidemiological factors in the first aid, early management, and treatment of chemical burns. ⋯ Patients with chemical burns accounted for a high proportion of the burn patients admitted to our unit in the same period, and they were mainly injured while working. Sufficient irrigation and immediate detoxification are key points in the treatment of chemical burns. Early total or tangential excision of eschar of deep wounds could reduce the possibility of poisoning.
