[Effect of intensive insulin therapy on apoptosis-related ligands in serum in rats with severe scald].
To investigate changes in apoptosis-related ligands in serum in rats with severe scald and the effect of intensive insulin therapy on the changes. ⋯ Insulin may inhibit apoptosis after burn by down-regulating secretion of apoptotic ligands.

[Effects of single or combined administration of cedilanid and enalaprilat on visceral damages in early stage of severe scald in rats].
To investigate the effects of single or combined administration of cedilanid and small-dose of enalaprilat on heart, liver, kidney and intestine damages at early stage of severe scald in rats. ⋯ Single administration of cedilanid or small-dose enalaprilat can ameliorate impairment of cardiac functions, prevent damages to liver, kidney and intestine in early stage of severe scald in rats. Combined administration of cedilanid and small-dose enalaprilat seems to be more effective.

[Effects of different enteral nutrition formulae combined with recombinant human growth hormone on inflammatory response in rats with scald injury].
To investigate the effects of enteral immunonutrition or enteral nutrition combined with recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) on inflammatory response in rats with severe scald. ⋯ Enteral immunonutrition combined with rhGH can ameliorate inflammatory response, in which rhGH has a collaborative effect.

Review[Experiences in rescue and treatment of mass burn casualties in fifty years].
The article reviewed the history and the main experiences of rescue of mass burn casualties and their treatment during the past fifty years in China. Some issues including medical support for mass burn casually and treatment regime in future, such as the prevention of burn calamities, further elevation of the cure rate and lowering in the rate of disability, further development in network of burn care and preliminary scheme of rescue of mass burn casualties and their treatment, accelerating the development and study on the substitutes of allo-skin graft were discussed.

Review[The pathogenesis and management of severe sepsis after burns].
Sepsis and septic shock as a result of an invasive infection are challenging problems in extensively burned patients, and frequently end in multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). It is of great significance to further elucidate the pathogenetic mechanisms, and to seek novel intervention strategies to prevent and treat sepsis/MODS secondary to severe burns. ⋯ Once burn wound sepsis occurs, prompt removal of infected necrotic tissue is the key procedure to ensure a successful result. Further study is necessary to determine the precise mechanisms of these protective effects and the clinical advantages for postburn sepsis using evidence-based methodology system.
