Comparative Study[Evaluation of the findings of computed tomography of the lungs in patients with nonspecific pneumothorax in late periods after surgical treatment].
By using the results of examination of 54 patients operated on for nonspecific spontaneous pneumothorax (NSP), the authors conclude that X-ray computed tomography (CT) is of high value. In addition to external respiratory function that identifies pulmonary functional changes, it is recommended that a comprehensive examination should include X-ray CT with parenchymal densitometry of the upper, middle and lower lung to reveal lung tissue structural changes. The examination of patients should be performed as soon as possible when the disease is detected and in the late postoperative period for early surgical correction of an emphysematous process in the lung.

[The puncture and catheterization of the peripheral vessels using ultrasonic scanning].
Having many-year experience with angiographic interventions, the authors examined the potentialities of ultrasonic angioscanning to monitor the implementation of endovascular interventions (EVI). During the study, they developed an original procedure of different EVI with intraoperative ultrasonic monitoring, refined the ultrasonic semiotics of the procedure, achieved positive results in preventing possible complications. The authors made indications for the procedure and rational ways of its application more concrete. They provide evidence for that the proposed procedure greatly facilitates the performance of different intravascular procedures and reduces the time (or excludes) teleradioscopy, thus lowering the radiation burden on the staff and the patient.

The purpose of the study was to evaluate the potentialities of spiral computed tomography (SCT) in recognizing some symptoms of injury-induced chest changes, to define differential diagnostic signs of some complications occurring in the posttraumatic period. Thirty one studies were made in 23 victims with severe mixed chest injury upon their admissions and during follow-ups. ⋯ CT angiography was applied in 8 cases. The CT picture of some pathological symptoms of chest injuries, injury complications, their differential diagnostic criteria were outlined.

[Diagnosis of endocardial electrode microdislocation at endocardial pacing].
Signs of microdislocation of an endocardial electrode (EE) were observed in 56 (14.4%) of 390 patients with an implantable pacemaker in the postoperative period. The microdislocation was diagnosed from electrocardiographic evidence for no response of a pacing pulse and from fluctuations in the pacing threshold, and from X-ray findings of the thickened and ill-defined outlines of a distal EE with preserving cardiac stimulation. The microdislocation preserves high parameters, as evidenced by a PM-20 M digital analyzer.
