Some of the newer antimicrobial agents that have either appeared on the market, will probably soon appear, or that are being used in other parts of the world and are therefore worthy of our interest will be reviewed. The agents reviewed fall into the following four classes: antibacterial, antifungal, antiparasitic, and antiviral.

When no other explanation for pulmonary hypertension can be found, it is referred to as primary pulmonary hypertension (PPH). Causes of pulmonary hypertension, with a special focus on PPH, as well as recent advances in both its medical and surgical treatment of pulmonary hypertension are reviewed.

The care of women treated for breast cancer is not only a responsibility of medical oncologists, radiation oncologists, and surgeons, but also of primary care physicians. Primary care and quality-of-life issues unique to the breast cancer survivor are discussed.
