Comparative Study
[Antibiotic prophylaxis of postoperative infective complications in patients with rectal and colonic cancers].
The results of operative use of clindamycin and netilmycin (1st group), piperacillin (2d group), in comparison to the standard protocol (carbenicillin and its combination with gentamicin) in 103 patients operated on rectal and colonic cancer are discussed. The rate of postoperative complications was 2.3% (1st groups), 5.3% (2d groups) vs. 37.1% (control group). The authors advocate the proposed protocols of antibacterial prophylaxis of rectal and colonic cancer.

[Problems of organ-preserving treatment of breast cancer (lecture)].

The results of surgical treatment of 209 patients with diseases of bile ducts with use of minimum approach and special instrument are presented. Cholecystectomy was carried out in 186 patients, cholecystectomy together with other interventions-in 15, operations on hepaticocholedochus in 7, cholecystectomy and choledochostomy-in 1. ⋯ After cholecystectomy the patients were discharged in 3-9 days. The authors consider the operations on biliary tract from minimum approach as an alternative to conventional laparotomy as well as laparoscopic cholecystectomy.

The experience of treatment of 73 wounded with gunshot injuries of the rectum is reviewed. Classification of gunshot injuries of the rectum is proposed which permits to choose rational surgical policy depending on the location of the rectal injury is proposed. Terms of closing colostomas in remote periods after operation were determined. The authors believe that because of the complicated anatomo-topographic characteristics of the rectum and frequency of the combined injuries it is advisable to perform operations bor gunshot wounds of the rectum as an urgent specialized aid.
