Near drowning in a bathtub occurred to a 3 years 7 months old boy. He was resuscitated at home by the firemen before admission in hospital, where he presented coma, convulsions and a massive distension of the abdomen. ⋯ The stomach is filled with air because inadequate position of the catheter. It also may be related to relaxation of crico-pharyngeal sphincter during anesthesia or coma.

McCune Albright Syndrome is characterized by the triad of polyostostic fibrous dysplasia of bones, skin pigmentation (café au lait-spots) and sexual precocity. The authors report a case of a 7 years girl with this syndrome in whom the sexual precocity is due to an autonomous hyperfunctioning of luteinized follicular cysts of ovary. The pathogenic mechanisms of this autonomy are debate.

This study was carried out in twenty-two newborn of birthweight lower than 2 000 g at four and six weeks to determine normal values of serum ferritin in preterm infants and pathological factors who influenced this evolution. Serum ferritin was measured by a kit using a sandwich radioimmunometric method. ⋯ There is no correlation between serum ferritin values and gestational age nor with hemoglobin values. Serum ferritin values are elevated by inflammatory pathology, blood transfusions and in this case no represent stain pool.

The authors have monitored Tc PCO2, Tc PO2 and mean airway pressure in 25 ventilated newborns, during 68 days. They show that the best blood gases values are not even obtained with the most aggressive artificial ventilation (A. V.). ⋯ V. This method may decrease the iatrogenic complications of the A. V.
