Serum neurofilament light chain (sNfL) can reflect nerve damage. Whether migraine can cause neurological damage remain unclear. This study assesses sNfL levels in migraine patients and explores whether there is nerve damage in migraine. ⋯ This is the first study to evaluate sNfL levels in migraine patients. The sNfL levels significantly increased in patients with a migraine course ≥ 10 years. More attention to nerve damage in young patients with a long course of migraine is required.

Migraine is a common disabling neurological disorder with severe physical and psychological damage, but there is a lack of convenient and effective non-invasive early prediction methods. This study aimed to develop a new series of non-invasive prediction models for migraine with external validation. ⋯ This study developed and validated a series of convenient and novel non-invasive prediction models for migraine, which have good predictive ability for migraine in Chinese adults of different genders and ages. It is of great significance for the early prevention, screening, and diagnosis of migraine.

Effects of Introvision, a self-regulation method with a mindfulness-based perception technique in migraine prevention: a monocentric randomized waiting-list controlled study (IntroMig Study).
Migraine is a brain disorder with recurrent headache attacks and altered sensory processing. Introvision is a self-regulation method based on mindfulness-like perception techniques, developed at the University of Hamburg. Here, we examined the effect of Introvision in migraine prevention. ⋯ Although the study did not reach its primary endpoint, several secondary outcome parameters in the pooled (non-controlled) pre-post analysis showed an improvement with a decrease in monthly headache days by 1.9 days/ month. A larger randomized controlled trial has to corroborate these preliminary findings.

The present study aimed to compare sex differences in the clinical manifestations related to dependence behaviors in medication-overuse headache (MOH). ⋯ The current study identified an association between smoking and MOH in men, as well as sex-specific cutoffs of the LDQ and the SDS, for MOH. MOH was characterized by a shorter latency between migraine onset and CM onset in men and a more severe phenotype in women. Sex should be considered as an important factor in the evaluation of MOH.
