Reamed transacral interbody fusion for L5-s1 pseudoarthrosis: a novel salvage technique in 10 patients.
A retrospective cohort study. ⋯ We report a series of patients who underwent a novel revision technique for symptomatic lumbosacral pseudoarthrosis. Despite the small numbers in this cohort, a salvage technique is presented that permitted fusion as confirmed by computed tomography scan and improved VAS scores in the majority of patients. The data suggest that this technique should be considered as an alternative to the revision anterior or posterior approaches to L5-S1 and merits further investigation.

Preliminary results on feasibility of outpatient instrumented transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion.
A retrospective chart review study was performed. ⋯ Although further confirmation is needed, this study discusses the possibility of performing instrumented lumbar interbody fusions with the transforaminal lumbar interbody fusion technique as an outpatient procedure. These results support a future prospective randomized study with a well-defined patient selection criteria.

Comparative StudyA comparative study between thoracoscopic surgery and posterior surgery using all-pedicle-screw constructs in the treatment of adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
A retrospective comparative study. ⋯ Despite its advantages, thoracoscopic surgery is losing its place in the surgical correction of AIS because of the frequent perioperative pulmonary complications and fixation problems compared with posterior pedicle screw fixation. Nevertheless, it can be utilized in selected cases particularly in cases of patient's strong demand for minimally invasive surgery.

The influence of preoperative brace treatment on the pulmonary function test in female adolescent idiopathic scoliosis.
Retrospective study. ⋯ Preoperative brace treatment can reduce the FVC% and FEV1% in thoracic AIS. The sagittal Cobb angle of the thoracic curve may be the influential factors.

Comparison of surgical outcomes after cervical laminoplasty: open-door technique versus French-door technique.
A retrospective case series. ⋯ Although open-door and French-door laminoplasty techniques were found to be effective for treating cervical compressive myelopathy, the open-door technique seems to be superior with respect to clinical and radiologic outcomes.
