Expectations associated with the use of music in neonatal intensive care: a survey from the viewpoint of parents.
The purpose of this study was to describe parents' expectations concerning the use of music in a neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) and to reveal any related background factors. ⋯ When nurses consider making use of music in the NICU, it is also important to take into account the parents' viewpoints.

An exploration of pediatric nurses' compliance with a medication checking and administration protocol.
This study examined nurses' reported compliance with the medication administration protocol and explored reasons for noncompliance. ⋯ The discrepancies between protocol and practice in this setting underscore the need to more widely investigate compliance with medication administration protocols in other settings.

We tested home pain management for children for effects on pain intensity, analgesics administered, satisfaction, and use of healthcare services over 3 post-discharge days. ⋯ Further research is needed to develop and test effective education interventions to facilitate relief of children's postoperative pain.
