Supraglottic Airway Devices: the Search for the Best Insertion Technique or the Time to Change Our Point of View?
In the crowded world of supraglottic airway devices (SADs), many papers compare the easiness of insertion based on the different endpoints of an operator's satisfaction: first pass success, ventilation effectiveness, complications and morbidity. Proseal LMA™ (Laryngeal Mask Airway, Teleflex Medical, Dublin, Ireland) has been extensively studied because on one hand it has a steeper learning curve and more complex insertion when compared with other SADs and on the other hand many alternative techniques are available to facilitate insertion. ⋯ Given that, as a result of many intrinsic characteristics of the device we are using, insertion might become the secondary issue to be considered only after we clearly identify what makes it difficult, and to be counterbalanced on the results we expect from the device, performance we can achieve and degree of airway protection it could grant. The aim of this narrative review is to consider which factors might affect or condition SAD insertion difficulty and to try identifying some criteria addressing physicians pertaining to the use of SADs in clinical practice.

Effect of Anaesthesia Method on Preoperative Anxiety Level in Elective Caesarean Section Surgeries.
In this study, the effect of the anaesthesia method on preoperative anxiety in parturients scheduled to undergo elective caesarean surgery was investigated. ⋯ In conclusion, spinal anaesthesia is associated with a higher preoperative anxiety level than general anaesthesia in obstetric patients. Therefore, it is necessary to take prevention against preoperative anxiety for the patients undergoing caesarean section surgeries under spinal anaesthesia.

Turkish Publications in Science Citation Index and Citation Index-Expanded Indexed Journals in the Field of Anaesthesiology: A Bibliographic Analysis.
Our study aimed to assess Turkish publications in Science Citation Index (SCI) and Science Citation Index Expanded (SCI-E) indexed journals in the field of 'anaesthesiology'. ⋯ In the field of anaesthesiology, the highest number of articles from Turkey was published in Revista Brasileira de Anestesiologia, European Journal of Anaesthesiology and Journal of Anesthesia. The mean citation number from these publications was 4.64.

Predictive Value of Brain Arrest Neurological Outcome Scale (BrANOS) on Mortality and Morbidity After Cardiac Arrest.
There are several prediction scales and parameters for prognosis after a cardiac arrest. One of these scales is the brain arrest neurological outcome scale (BrANOS), which consists of duration of cardiac arrest, Glasgow Coma Scale score and Hounsfield unit measured on cranial computed tomography (CT) scan. The objective of this study is to investigate the effectiveness of BrANOS on predicting the mortality and disability after a cardiac arrest. ⋯ In this study, we demonstrated that BrANOS provided reliable data for prognostic evaluation after a cardiac arrest.

Ultrasonographic Measurement of Subglottic Diameter for Paediatric Cuffed Endotracheal Tube Size Selection: Feasibility Report.
The aim of this feasibility study was to investigate the first attempt success of ultrasonography (USG) in paediatric patients in predicting an appropriate cuffed endotracheal tube (ETT) size. ⋯ Our findings show the subglottic diameter measured by USG to be a reliable predictor in estimating the appropriate paediatric ETT size.
