Randomized Controlled Trial
Evaluation of a nurse-led intervention program in heart failure: A randomized trial.
Several trials have evaluated the effect of disease management programs in heart failure (HF) with diverse results. The aim of this study was to develop a simple nurse-led clinic intervention program for patients with HF and assess whether this intervention positively affects the prognosis of patients, their care costs and perceived quality of life (QoL). ⋯ In patients with HF, the use of a nurse-led intervention program significantly improves perceived QoL and reduce HF hospital readmissions.

Eosinophilic oesophagitis is a unique form of non-IgE-mediated food allergy characterised by oesophageal eosinophilic infiltration. The prevalence of EoE has grown to currently represent the first cause of dysphagia and food impaction in children and young adults. Avoiding food triggers is the only therapy targeting the cause of the disease, but none of the currently available food allergy tests adequately predicts food triggers for EoE. ⋯ Proton pump inhibitors constitute an effective first-line therapy in half of patients, through a direct anti-inflammatory effect independent of its action on gastric acid secretion. Topical glucocorticosteroids budesonide and fluticasone reduce eosinophilic inflammation and reverse symptoms. This review includes the most relevant aspects of the epidemiology, diagnosis, treatment and monitoring of eosinophilic oesophagitis.

Melanoma is the most dangerous skin cancer with high metastasis rate and mortality. Although the emergence of immunotherapy has brought hope for treatment, the mortality rate of melanoma is still increasing year by year. The underlying mechanism of melanoma tumor progression and metastasis is urgently needed to be clarified. Recently chemokines have been found to play an important role in tumor progression in addition to their immunocytochemical chemotaxis. ⋯ In conclusion, our study demonstrated that SCH-527123, a small-molecule antagonist for CXCR1 and CXCR2 inhibited cell proliferation, migration and invasion in melanoma via PI3K/AKT pathway.
