Arterial hypertension treatment in octogenarians with dementia according to ESC/ESH-2018: Three-year follow-up.
To determine the control of systolic blood pressure (SBP) retrospectively according to the recommendations of the ESC/ESH-2018 guideline and its relationship with mortality in octogenarian patients with dementia. ⋯ The percentage of patients in treatment with suboptimal SBP was elevated especially in hypertensive patients without cardiovascular comorbidity. We found a trend for higher mortality in undesirable SBP groups compared to desirable SBP.

Recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) treatment in small for gestational age (SGA) children has been effective, although there is significant variability in the response. Adult height and the factors that determine the long-term response are evaluated. ⋯ rhGH treatment in children born SGA produced a varying increase in adult height that allowed them to reach their adult height. The best results occurred in the prepubertal group and did not depend on pituitary GH response.

After the introduction of antiretroviral therapy, a decrease in AIDS defining cancers (ADCs) is observed, while non-AIDS-defining cancers (NADCs) have increased in HIV-infected patients (HIP). We have little information about the prognosis and associated risk factors. We studied survival and its relationship with immunodeficiency after the diagnosis of ADC or NADC. ⋯ The most frequent types of tumours in HIP differ from those in the general population, probably due to oncogenic risk factors. CD4 T lymphocyte count =200/mm3 is a risk factor related to worse prognosis after NADC or ADC diagnosis.
